BAE Systems Jacksonville Ship Repair has An opening for Welders

Experienced in the trade; knowledge of ship terminology and welding symbols; performs steel
repairs on marine vessels.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Technically proficient in all tasks, work processes, and equipment at a very high standard.
• Accountable for completion of daily work assignments.
• Works under direct supervision.
• Monitors working environment for compliance with quality, safety, environmental, and health
regulations.

Typical Education & Experience .Required Skills and Education Demonstrated ability to apply welding procedures.
Shall pass to N.D.E. requirements a WPQT (FCAW) with ceramic backing in the 1G and 3G positions.
Shall pass to N.D.E. requirements a WPQT (FCAW) with an open butt, with back gouge in the 3G and 4G positions.
Note: The test plates will be 1" thick by 8"minimum length.
Preferred Skills and Education SPECIFIC TASKS AND SKILL LEVELS
Must have knowledge of variety of welding machine(s) usage and settings.
Must have knowledge of arc gouging procedures for butts and seams.
Must have knowledge of the parts of a weld. Knowledge of welding electrode handling procedures. Ability to perform UT and X-ray non-destructive testing. Ability to perform fillet weld and sizes.
Must have knowledge of safety of welding gases.
