Rally Health, part of the UnitedHealth Group portfolio of companies, is currently seeking an Human Capital / Compensation Intern in either our Washington, DC, Minneapolis, MN, or San Francisco, CA office (DC preferred).

This is an exciting opportunity for a student to be immersed in a progressive HR organization in a high tech environment. In this position, you will work with the HR Business Partner team and Compensation team in developing and executing best practices for managing people and culture. This role will provide you hands-on experience with a variety of HR functions including compensation, talent management, employee engagement, analytics, as well as HR operations.

This is a 12 week internship supporting and learning from the Director, Human Resources based in the Washington, DC office. The core focus areas for this opportunity will be:

  • HR Business Partnership
    • Employee Experience, Engagement Survey, Focus Groups/Feedback Forums, Site-Based Energy and Culture
  • Compensation
    • Data Analysis, System Administration, Market Surveys, Job Leveling, Reporting, Performance Management

We are looking for someone who matches Rally’s fast-paced environment and is excited to work with a rapidly growing company. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in pursuing a profession in Human Resources, Compensation, Learning and Development, and/or Organizational Development. He/she will be able to work autonomously and efficiently to ensure the end-to-end running of projects and operations.

What you'll do:

  • Research and assist in the creation of an end to end view of the employee life cycle at Rally, inclusive of exploring all of the moments that matter for an employee.
  • Schedule, observe and scribe during employee focus groups and feedback huddles with the potential for co-facilitation if desired.
  • Help analyze employee experience survey results and build materials and presentations.
  • Assist Compensation Leaders and HR Business Partners (HRBPs) on field-initiated projects to drive business results.
  • Leverage data analytics to find trends, themes and create a compelling narrative
  • Partner with the various stakeholders in HR to ensure HRIS and Compensation Management system meets requirements for data/reporting needs.
  • Assist in job mapping, FLSA evaluation, and market pricing analysis to support compensation recommendations in accordance with compensation policies.
  • Support other team initiatives as indicated including training, employee exit interviews and compliance audits.

What you have:

  • Undergraduate (seniors highly preferred) or graduate student studying Human Resources, Business Management, I/O Psychology, or a related discipline.
  • Professional demeanor, positive attitude, strong work ethic.
  • Dynamic personality, open to learning new things and ready to contribute where needed.
  • Excellent MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint skills; Familiarity with Google Suite a plus.
  • Editing, writing experience, and research experience strongly preferred.
  • Superb attention to detail and proven ability to execute highly specific tasks.
  • Ability to work confidently and calmly under pressure.
  • Demonstrates initiative and ability to be an independent self-starter, in addition to working well with others in a collaborative environment.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Strong work ethic, ability to prioritize and pivot quickly when needed.
  • Demonstrated organizational, time and project management skills.
  • Excellent and proactive communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Naturally curious and creative, constantly looking for ways to improve upon things.

This position will ideally located in our Washington DC office. We do not offer relocation or housing for this role.
