Your Role and Responsibilities

Windows administrators are system administrators who specialize in installing, configuring, and maintaining Windows-based servers. This role encompasses back-end IT support for business-critical and development-related departments and personnel. Windows administrators also maintain system stability and data security through deployment and migration.

This role requires extensive familiarity with Windows servers and frequently involves both risk assessment and user support tasks. Windows administrators leverage their expertise with the Windows operating system and server administration to develop and deploy servers, support day-to-day system performance, and prevent data loss and unauthorized access. Windows Administrator Daily Duties and Responsibilities:

• Troubleshooting of complex and difficult environment problems
• Applying requests for service, complex environment, system configuration changes
• Applying problem management and defect prevention practices
• Configuration, installation and upgrade tasks within the distributed systems environment
• 3 shift model 24/7 support

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• 2 years of MS Windows 2008/2012 server administration experience (at least dozens of servers in different sites connected via WAN), Vmware, MSSQL
• Good skills and experience in problem determination, analysis and resolution
• Know-how in server based computing (Citrix, MS Terminal Services)
• We appreciate your leadership in helping to attract new talent into our business and hope you will refer qualified candidates to IBM in the future

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Very good knowledge in designing and implementing of backup and disaster recovery concepts, security strategies, high-availability and virtualization solutions
• Know-how in server based computing (Citrix, MS Terminal Services)
• Scripting skills
• Experience in HW design and troubleshooting (IBM, HP, COMPAQ, DELL)
• Leadership and communication skills- good presentation and documentation skills
• Project management knowledge
• ITIL knowledge
