Job Description

What you’ll be doing...

Your work will help to inspire various client and Verizon stakeholders and teams by demonstrating the art of the possible experiences and functionalities.

• Apply user-centered design principles and processes to create the best possible web, mobile, and in-person experiences.
• Prototype and refine UI designs from low-fi wireframes to beautiful mocks and clickable prototypes that can be developed into functional digital experiences.
• Create UX designs depicting user journeys and solution interactions.
• Manage the UI/UX design process in collaboration with clients, partners, vendors, and internal Verizon teams.
• Thoughtfully and professionally communicate your design ideas and rationale both internally and to clients.
• Embody and apply UX/UI design industry best practices.
• Function as a UX/UI Design SME both within Verizon and externally within industry.
• Support the Verizon sales teams by taking an active role in contributing to account planning and pre-sales activities.
• Contribute to practice development and planning efforts.
• Contribute to the development of new practice solutions and service offerings.

What we’re looking for...

You are passionate about developing UX/UI solutions to deliver best-in-class user experiences across web and native applications. You are a hands-on self-starter, a strong listener to clients and cross-functional peers, and a strong communicator both in terms of the concepts and designs you seek to push forward as well as the ways in which you are looking to do so.

You'll need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree or one or more years of work experience.
• Experience with cross-platform design (Responsive Web, iOS, Android, Etc.).
• Knowledge of front-end development as well as established and emerging web/mobile UI technologies.
• Knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
• Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have:

• Bachelor’s degree or one or more years of experience creating UX/UI designs and prototypes.
• Experience in Agile product management methodology and tools.
• Experience in one or more of these technologies: Internet of Things (IoT), Location Based Technologies, Analytics/BI, Application development.
• Graphic design expertise – e.g. illustrator, Photoshop.
• Proficiency in frameworks such Ionic, React, Cordova, Angular.
• Experience in the Telecom, Healthcare, Retail, or Manufacturing industries.
• Proficiency in frameworks such as Uxpin, balsamiq.
• Proficiency in design thinking, user research, story boarding, and journey maps.
• Fluency in leading design tools (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite).
• Knowledge of the UX process and design best principles.
• Fast lo-fi and hi-fi prototyping skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience working closely within multi-disciplinary teams including software engineers, architects, analysts, etc.
• Well organized, solutions-oriented, with high attention to details.
• Ability to manage multiple product/engagement efforts simultaneously.
• A portfolio of past UI/UX design work.
