What you’ll be doing...

The Technical Data Solutions Analyst (BA) performs a crucial role within the data warehouse to create and maintain a strategic relationship between the business partners and the IT development team. You will become a subject matter expert on several domains related to Verizon products and services. As a member of the data warehouse team, you will work closely with internal and external stakeholders in the definition, testing, implementation, and support of functional/technical requirements.

• Delivering projects in support of enterprise wide initiatives.
• Providing planning, requirements analysis, high level design, writes design documents, performs testing, including the development of test cases and resolution of quality issues along with using Teradata SQL Assistant to run queries on the data and assists users with user acceptance testing.
• Participating in process and productivity improvement initiatives.
• Maintaining close collaboration with multiple source systems, data warehouse production support, external vendors and business users to ensure timeliness and quality of all projects.
• Following appropriate systems life cycle methodologies, Agile and Waterfall, for quality and maintainability and communicates status to IT management.
• Staying ahead of changes and advances in data warehousing technology.
• Working as a team member and provides technical leadership and/or business-related subject matter expertise on small, medium and large projects.

What we’re looking for...

Must be interested in working with internal and external business partners and coordinating with multiple source systems. Perform the role of detective as you dig deep into the data warehouse to ensure new data requirements are not already available for the business to access, if not there, how the new data will fit in, be ingested and exposed in a usable manner. Daily activities include but are not limited to attending project calls to groom new user stories, acting as the liaison between business and technical teams, writing documentation and working on all aspects of a project from analysis, testing, implementation and support after launch.
You will need to have:

• Bachelor's degree or one or more years of work experience.
• One or more years of experience of project management concepts.
• One or more years of experience in driving projects independently.
• One or more years of experience of information systems concepts with knowledge of relational databases and big data platforms.

Even better if you have:

• Master’s degree.
• Two or more years of professional experience in data analytics, business analysis or comparable analytics position.
• Two or more years of experience with technical/analytical skills (e.g., systems design) and/or programming and design skills.
• Two or more years of experience in writing SQL against a relational database in order to analyze and test data.
• Knowledge of wireless industry, especially in telecom, billing, finance, sales, marketing and/or ability to deal with ambiguity and competing objectives in a fast paced environment.
• Customer service experience.
• Clarity and Jira system knowledge.
• Teradata and Hadoop knowledge.
