Job Description
Job Description The BAE Systems Prototype Network (PN) team is seeking a Project Analyst for its hardware development efforts. This Project Analyst will support the gathering of information from Program Managers and engineers from a variety of sources: Start of Work Meetings, EORs, conversations, Test Reports, and other sources. This data will be collected and added to the Prototype Network IMS, Manpower Resource Loading, Bay Space Capacity, Hex Chart, Operations Project Status, and other documents used to communicate with the team and management. Follow up with PMs and requestors will be necessary to keep the data aligned with changes and schedule adjustments. Additional metrics and means of communication will be necessary for the individual Programs. Manufacturing strategy with a Prototype Clearing House process for new efforts will be included in the scope of support. The Project Analyst will work with the HPM, IEs, and Shop Supervisors to develop resource and duration estimates for new requests.
- Performs analysis of schedules and requests for support to assure they are captured in all the relevant documents.
- Collaborates with engineering design team, Planners, Industrial engineers, Shop Supervisors, and HPMs to determine Make Buy, and estimates to complete.
- Identifies root cause of issues and delays or rejections and make recommendations for corrective actions.
- Identifies both systemic and “one-off” process breakdowns to inform the need for training to prevent reoccurrence.
- Tracks items in workflow, prepares charts and graphs to convey resource and Bay Space loading, choke points, issues, and opportunities.
- Tracks action items to completion.
- Shares data, and collects data from other functions (Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain) to inform holistic analysis of how well the design engineering and Prototype Network teams are performing.
- Collects and analyzes labor hour actuals to determine the true cost of labor for a specific activity.
- Develops and writes reports, reviews and makes revisions to existing documentation, and provides input to papers or presentations.
- Develops and maintains effective relationships with other functions to contribute to the “one team” approach to performance
- Acquires and maintains up-to-date knowledge of relevant discipline(s), industry practices, trends, and applications.
- Supports project execution activities to include documentation, meeting set up, action item tracking, progress against milestones, and deliverable development and coordination. Identifies and resolves issues within the project team. Supports and maintains lessons learned.
- Supports and implements policy and process objectives in preparation for audits. Monitors, measures and develops reports as needed.
- Supports risk identification, risk mitigation, and risk register activities. Assists in the support of opportunity exploitation.
- Familiar with protection of proprietary information, document/record retention, and export control.
- Maintains a safe work environment and ensures compliance with safety policies and rules.
Typical Education & Experience .
Required Skills and Education - Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office software suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Access etc...).
- Fluent in Microsoft Project
- Familiarity with EPDM, EDVS, EOR.
- Proficiency to create and maintain large Excel spreadsheets.
- Skills to develop and maintain effective relationships to solve problems.
- Ability to work professionally with colleagues to establish and meet deadlines
- Demonstrated self-starter requiring minimal supervision.
- Possesses excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Able to adjust and shift priorities
Preferred Skills and Education - Proficient with EPDM product release workflows.
- Experience transitioning engineering products to Production.
- Experience aligning Windchill-based Engineering Bills of Material (EBOM) with Oracle-based Manufacturing Bills of Material (MBOM).
- Ability to create scripts in EPDM to extract key data in support of analysis.
- Strong organizational skills and proven ability to proactively coordinate multiple entities to achieve final deliverable.
