The Director for Marketing Communications plays a key role in sharing that story in the United States and around the world. She or he will be responsible for the planning and execution of BAE Systems, Inc.’s marketing communications activities to promote the products, capabilities and successes of a global organization of more than 30,000 employees and sales exceeding $10B -- to include Tier 1 domestic exhibitions, corporate advertising, and communications and marketing content. She or he will bring ideally to the role an understanding of the company’s competitive environment and have knowledge of key customers and industry issues.
Reporting to the VP of Marketing Communications and Brand, this position provides leadership, guidance, and coordination to BAE Systems, Inc. sectors in the execution of marketing strategies and tactics, including developing and coordinating marketing campaigns across sectors. She or he must understand the strategic direction of BAE Systems, Inc., as well as our UK-based parent company (BAE Systems plc), and coordinate closely across the company and with plc for Tier 1 international exhibitions.
The Director will be joining a Comms team that’s passionate about our mission, collaborative and creative, and excited to share the BAE Systems story with the world.
- Leads and manages Tier 1 U.S. exhibitions, working closely with sector exhibitions, business development, government relations, media, and other functional teams.
- Managers relationship with agencies to deliver domestic exhibitions in line with corporate brand guidelines, on time and on budget
- Participates in the strategic planning, development, and coordination of Tier 1 international exhibitions lead by BAE Systems plc to support the export objectives of BAE Systems, Inc.
- Manages, coordinates, and supports the development of key messages, sales materials and advertising, and provides counsel on public relations projects, including recommending media outlets and channels best suited to promote key capabilities and technologies.
- Interacts with internal graphic designers and vendors for the creation of support materials. Helps develop and evaluate direct and/or matrixed personnel, as needed. Coordinates with BAE Systems, Inc. protocol staff on events and exhibitions needs.
- Responsibility for implementation of corporate identity and branding standards with exhibitions and marketing efforts for BAE Systems, Inc.
- Develops and executes strategic marketing campaigns to include exhibitions, themes and messaging, coordination of video and print materials.
- Supports managing BAE Systems, Inc. budgets for exhibitions and promotions
Typical Education & Experience .
Required Skills and Education - Bachelor’s Degree
- 10+ years of relevant work experience in Communications
- 10+ years experience preferred without advanced degree
