Data Science Manager

Job Description

Greenhouse is looking for a Data Science Manager to join our team.

Reporting to our Director of Engineering, you'll immediately inherit a hardworking team of Data Scientists and set the team vision and direction. You'll work with a variety of internal teams and stakeholders in order to derive insights and directly impact our business. We are looking for someone who wants to elevate our team's current capabilities by unlocking new knowledge through data analysis and manipulation, collaborating cross-functionally to inform decisions within our products, all while being a mentor to their team.

What you’ll do:

• Lead the Data Science processes and adapt them to respond to new challenges and priorities
• Be the go-to resource for your team and unblock day-to-day obstacles that come their way
• Partner with stakeholders to optimize their products and workflows and elevate their use of data in decision-making
• Utilize our data to derive efficiencies of internal processes
• Own relationships with internal teams to maintain and improve existing data products

You should have:

• A deep understanding of SQL and Python (particularly the Pandas library), or experience with R and an interest in learning Python
• Experience in leading Data Science processes
• Experience building out a data warehouse and related analytics tools
• Experience solving business problems using data analytics
• Familiarity with statistics beyond basic aggregations, Bayesian statistics is a plus
• Machine Learning model development and deployment
• People management experience is preferred
• Strong communication skills and comfort working across the organization
• Experience with BI/Data Visualization tools, e.g., Mode Analytics, nice to have
• Experience with ETLs and DAGs, nice to have
