Job summary

The Red Hat Enterprise Experience and Delivery (EXD), Pipeline Value team is looking for a Junior Technical Project Manager to join our Engineering team in Brno, Czech Republic. In this role, you will interact directly with development teams to ensure that our projects are on schedule and capture all requirements of our internal applications and external stakeholders. Built on Red Hat's technologies and open source solutions, Red Hat's operations infrastructure is customized to allow our globally distributed product development teams to plan, develop, test, launch, and maintain their Red Hat enterprise software releases. As a Junior Technical Project Manager, you'll serve as an advocate to communicate and prioritize work across the teams. For the prioritization of functionality, it is essential that you'll be able to get consensus from all teams. As you'll work as part of the larger EXD team, you should know how to successfully communicate with geographically distributed teams and have a technical background with solid analytical, business, and communication skills.

Primary job responsibilities

• Under minimal direction, lead project planning, scheduling, monitoring, and reporting for projects and releases of offerings
• Work with management and teams on project proposals and estimates
• Integrate and use industry-specific project management methodologies and techniques like waterfall and agile methodologies, test-driven development, etc.
• Establish good use of project scheduling tools, defect tracking, and metrics for measuring projects
• Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and project management techniques

Required skills

• Solid experience in project management, preferably with a focus on agile methods
• 2+ years of related experience in project management, or equivalent work experience in software engineering and DevOps
• Experience in stakeholder management and building professional relationships with business owners
• Basic understanding of risk and change management processes
• Interest in or experience with DevOps
• Ability to coordinate with geographically distributed teams and assist in training and coaching in order to achieve project goals
• Ability to identify, prioritize, and escalate issues appropriately
• Ability to confidently contribute to a diverse, global, cross-functional team
• Excellent communication skills with solid written and verbal language skills in English
• Experience with JIRA tooling is a plus
• Project management certifications are a plus
