GLOBAL COMPLIANCE

Our division prevents, detects and mitigates compliance, regulatory and reputational risk across the firm and helps to strengthen the firm’s culture of compliance. Compliance accomplishes these through the firm’s enterprise-wide compliance risk management program. As an independent control function and part of the firm’s second line of defense, Compliance assesses the firm’s compliance, regulatory and reputational risk; monitors for compliance with new or amended laws, rules and regulations; designs and implements controls, policies, procedures and training; conducts independent testing; investigates, surveils and monitors for compliance risks and breaches; and leads the firm’s responses to regulatory examinations, audits and inquiries. You'll be part of a team with members from a wide range of academic and professional backgrounds, such as law, accounting, sales, and trading. RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

As Big Data engineer you will be expected to build surveillances and workflow tools for use by global compliance officers. A Surveillance is a computational model that helps in detecting violations with regards to a specific compliance risk. You will be expected to work on work on developing large scale data models, pipelines, and computing systems with massive amounts of structured and unstructured data.

Responsibilities

• Contribute in system design, architecture review and have experience in leading a team
• Design and implement scalable APIs for surveillance and workflow tools
• Building data pipelines to ingest data in our Hadoop clusters, performing data cleansing, data manipulation and analysis, implementing artificial intelligence algorithms, and visualizing outliers in user-friendly UIs
• Testing, deploying - in production environments - and maintaining software systems across the full-stack of the surveillance products and the general-purpose big-data systems
• Collaborate efficiently within a diverse global team spanning multiple continents
• Act as a liaison to communicate with Senior Stakeholders at regular intervals
• Build consensus across teams; think and implement stable and scalable designs to support the Firm’s focus on system convergence and externalization
• Client focus: think of APIs as a service and provide internal and external users with outstanding SLAs

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field: Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering
• Knowledge about popular design patterns and algorithms
• Excellent programming skills in Java, C++, Scala, or a similar programming language
• Experience in designing/developing end-to-end solutions, scalable and reliable systems, with a focus on APIs / modularity
• Track record of influence with Senior Stakeholders
• Efficient and effective communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in financial industry and compliance or risk functions
• Experience working with scalable search engine (processing billions of documents)
• Experience working with largest knowledge graph (with millions of vertices / billions of edges)
