Pharmacy Tech, Ascension St. Vincent's Clay

Within this new model, our Pharmacy Technicians will have the opportunity to be fully integrated into the care plans of our patients.

Rounding will transform to a full team approach. From residents to case managers, each associate that participates in the care of our patients, will all round together for direct communication. A New Unit

You will work in our newly designed innovation unit. Here, the entire care team is centrally located to foster communication and cohesion. Our new associate break room provides opportunity to recharge by providing a home-like feel with state of the art technology to allow you to connect virtually with your family when you can’t physically be with them. We believe that in order to truly care for our patients, you first need to take care of yourself. This new unit and team makes every effort to uphold that tenant.

What You Will Do

As a member of the interdisciplinary care team you will be responsible for coordinating holistic pharmacy services related to the timely delivery of sterile and non-sterile compounding medications and automated drug distribution services. This includes inventory control, data collection such as patient specific data including but not limited to medication history in accordance with established policies and procedures and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate timely and accurate delivery of sterile & non-sterile medications, and appropriate dosage form of topical & oral medications.
• Communicate appropriate instruction regarding disposal of pharmaceutical waste and reverse distribution.
• Participate in huddles in both the pharmacy and patient care unit, attend IDT rounds as necessary.
• Answer Interdisciplinary Team questions and provide education and in-servicing on procedural changes, medication storage, and distribution.
• Facilitate the coordination of discharge medications through Ascension Retail Pharmacies.
  Is actively involved in intra-departmental communications and dissemination of information related to drug shortages.
• Design and implement specific process improvement projects to meet related department goals.
• Evaluate and solicit feedback on all process improvement activities as assigned in relation to medication distribution.
  

Minimum Qualifications:

• Knowledge of general pharmacy practice policies and procedures
• Current Certification by the Florida State Board of Pharmacy
• Current and active Pharmacy Technician registration in good standing
