Your Opportunity

Charles Schwab Investment Management (CSIM), the asset management arm of Charles Schwab Corporation, has over $430 Billion in assets under management (AUM) and is one of the nation’s largest retail money managers. The position sits within the investment risk and performance analytics group at Schwab Asset Management Solutions (SAMS), a broader organization combining Schwab’s investment research, trading, and portfolio management expertise to provide mutual funds, ETFs, and managed strategies.

To help the team deliver critical performance metrics and valuable analysis, the individual will partner with the performance and risk teams, portfolio management, product management, marketing, Data & Insights group, technology, and others across SAMS.

What you’re good at

Responsibilities will include:

  • Support the preparation of marketing presentations, respond to performance-related inquiries from internal clients (e.g., Research, Sales, Marketing, Sr. Management), and perform monthly and/or quarterly performance attribution
  • Deliver value-adding analytics and reporting using best-in-class systems such as Bloomberg, Morningstar, and Tableau, as well as proprietary tools using languages like Python and R
  • Presentation of performance reports at required corporate governance and oversight committee meetings as well as to various other groups at Schwab and its affiliates
  • Calculate, track, QA, and publish GIPS-compliant composite performance from relevant systems on a monthly basis, and work with multiple groups across the firm to rectify any issues that contributed to dispersion
  • Maintain and develop policies and methodologies related to compliance with GIPS

What you have

  • Relevant experience within Financial Services
  • Experience with GIPS-compliant account and composite-level performance calculation methodologies desired
  • Working knowledge of CAPS, Inc. or other performance calculation software highly desirable
  • High attention to detail and experience with rigorous quality control approaches
  • Great teammate who is able to work well alone as well as with others on any given project/assignment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills a must
  • Strong computer skills required
  • Python experience a plus, as well as experience with data/analytics systems such as Bloomberg, FactSet, Morningstar, Tableau
  • Preference for CFA and/or CIPM qualification achieved or in progress a major plus
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
