Job summary

Become one of the professionals selected for our Incubation Program, who will be trained in the U.S. and then participate in projects throughout Latin America to enable the local Emerging Technology Practice. The Red Hat Consulting team is looking for a Senior Cloud and Telco Consultant to join us in Mexico City, Mexico. In this role, you will passionately guide and promote the adoption of Red Hat's cloud solutions in our key enterprise accounts, government agencies, and service provider partners. Through the successful design and direct delivery of pilots and deployments of our offerings, you will play a key role in customer success with Red Hat as a trusted partner as they build and deploy their clouds. You’ll need to have thorough working knowledge of and extensive direct experience with cloud architectures including Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), their supporting infrastructures, and their scripting languages (Python, Ruby, and Puppet), with a particularly deep level of knowledge in either cloud networking technologies like software-defined networking (SDN), or storage (object and block) disciplines. As a Consultant and subject matter expert in relevant technologies, you will be accountable also for delivering and supporting the deployment of Red Hat's cloud technologies on customer projects and the design, creation, and delivery of content that will enable the broader Red Hat organization to design, service, and support our cloud solutions at scale. Prefered location is Mexico City, however candidates from other cities will also be taken into consideration.

Primary job responsibilities

• Implement and integrate Red Hat’s open hybrid cloud, including Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) technologies, as well as Red Hat OpenStack Platform, Red Hat OpenShift, and Red Hat CloudForms
• Collaborate with project and customer team members to meet timelines and goals
• Contribute to project documentation and diagrams including quality assurance (QA) and ticket and bug management
• Participate in mentoring and knowledge transfer to customers
• Develop and implement automation and integration for our customers’ cloud and system Infrastructure solutions using Ruby, Python, or Puppet
• Work with senior associates to guide adoption of automation techniques and DevOps processes to improve the cloud life cycle, including infrastructure and application uptime, availability, and time-to-market
• Design and advocate solutions using cloud technologies, design principles, integration points, and automation methods

Required skills

• Good written and verbal communication skills in English; interviews will be held mostly in this language
• Willingness to travel frequently to customer locations internationally and in the United States (where the training will be held)
• 7+ years of experience working in a related technology position like consulting, operations, development, and related internships
• 5+ years of experience with cloud and Linux technologies
• 3+ years of experience with automation frameworks and tools like Puppet, Red Hat Ansible Automation, or CFEngine
• Advanced skills with command line and scripting tools like Ruby or Python
• Background in designing and delivering implementations using cloud infrastructure technologies and providers, e.g., Red Hat OpenStack Platform, KVM and Red Hat Virtualization, VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V, Xen, Rackspace, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Microsoft Azure
• Extensive experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration and design
• Direct experience with DevOps or agile processes
• Experience with operating system architecture and concepts, including virtualization (e.g., KVM) and container (e.g., Docker) implementations
• Experience implementing system infrastructure and cloud solutions, including data storage, networking, monitoring, and security
• Experience working with Bash and similar command line tools
• Solid written and verbal presentation skills
• Comfortable working with highly distributed teams, including interaction with open source communities via email and IRC
• Ability to study on your own and quickly learn and put into practice new topics
• Passion for open source, software, tooling, and automation

The following are considered a plus:

• Experience with the operation of enterprise and cloud infrastructures
• Familiarity with using public cloud technologies and providers like AWS and Microsoft Azure
• Experience working in a QA role with ticketing systems or bug tracking tools
• Language skills in Portuguese are a plus
