Job summary

The Red Hat Marketing team is looking for an experienced and practical Regional Field Marketing Manager to join us in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In this role, you will take end-to-end ownership for the development and implementation of the go-to-market strategies to generate demand, promote revenue, and build brand awareness for Red Hat’s solutions. You'll need to have excellent planning, project management, implementation, and communication skills, as well as demonstrated experience working with Sales teams, agencies, and cross-functional Marketing teams to identify marketing initiatives that align to and achieve sales outcomes. This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) region.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Take end-to-end ownership of marketing strategies, programs, events, and campaigns that generate demand, increase revenue, and build brand awareness for Red Hat’s solutions
  • Develop and carry out marketing plans and initiatives in partnership with Sales leadership and team to achieve business and revenue growth targets
  • Work closely with the Sales team, cross-functional teams, and wider Marketing teams to develop and implement strategies and campaigns to generate demand and expand market share
  • Manage marketing performance by actively reviewing and tracking the ROI for all marketing campaigns and make performance decisions and shifts to optimize spending and return
  • Have a solid understanding of budgeting, accruals, and forecasting
  • Work with the communications manager, agency, sales managers, and customers on the communications plan and customer reference program, including customer testimonials, case studies, and press releases
  • Work with third party vendors from the brief, design, and service-level agreement (SLA) through to delivery and measurement of marketing campaigns

Required skills

  • 8–10 years of relevant business-to-business (B2B) experience in field marketing in high-technology companies; software or solutions-focused experience
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a relevant field
  • Record of building relationships with sales leadership and teams and collaborating on the definition and prioritization of marketing programs while managing expectations to ensure realistic commitments are set
  • Accomplished range of skills from high-level strategic thinking to creative and detailed implementation of strategies, managing agencies, cross-group collaboration, and problem solving
  • Proven success in managing complex and multi-faceted marketing programs with the ability to guide projects from initiation through to completion
  • Demonstrated ability to work on your own and experience working with sales leadership and sales teams in driving pipeline and increasing revenue
  • Motivated and enthusiastic about working in complex and challenging environments of a rapidly evolving industry
  • Passion for technology and disruptive technology
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills in English
  • Deep understanding of functional aspects of campaign management and technical administration through marketing automation tools; knowledge of Qlik Sense, Tableau, Salesforce.com (SFDC), and Eloqua is a plus
  • Solid record to analyze data and draw inference
  • Willingness to travel
