Rackspace’s Mid-Market sales team is looking for experienced technical sales professionals to help us continue to grow by seeking new opportunities within existing accounting and hunting for new customers.

What will I be doing?

Our Account Executives work as part of a team, leading the full sales cycle from lead to close.

You will be responsible for providing customers with moderate to complex product solutions, based on facts and understanding of customers’ business needs and strategy.

You will coordinate with Account Managers and other internal resources to build simplified account plans and determine targeting marketing plays.

Most importantly, you will operate with a customer centric mindset, with the ability to connect and sell to mid- to upper-level management.

What makes someone successful in this role?

  • Meets or exceeds sales & pipeline targets.
  • Ensures documentation necessary for the deal is properly maintained and updated and provides leadership updates on status, resources, and financial information.
  • Creates advocates out of clients by delivering fanatical customer experience and leverages client advocates to drive additional sales.
  • Ensures all relevant data and reporting into CRM in timely fashion.

What are the qualifications for this role?

  • Minimum 10+ years successful B2B sales experience; 5+ years of experience in technology sales (cloud computing/SaaS/PaaS/IaaS, services, apps, security, etc.) is required
  • Internal candidates: 10+ years sales, outbound prospecting, and/or account management; 5+ years of experience in Rackspace or direct competitor's sales organization
  • Experience in all facets of sales: outbound lead generation, follow up, pipeline management, training, and closing skills required.
  • Documented success in closing revenue generating business and successful history working under a quota required
  • Must have the experience and business savvy necessary to interact directly with CTO, CIO, VP and other senior roles within the customer organization
  • Able to communicate the same message in a different way to both technical and business oriented people. Superior ability to adapt messages to stakeholders at all levels of the company, from CTO level to front-line technical support.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business or a related field required. Equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered, at managers' discretion.
  • 25-50% travel may be required

Work Locations
This role may work from our headquarters location in San Antonio, our Austin or Jersey City offices, or remote from home. Preferred remote locations are Dallas or Houston, but other locations may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
