Corporate Operational Risk Management (COR), which is a part of Corporate Risk Management (CRM). CRM provides an integrated risk management strategy that supports delivery of predictable financial and operational performance in order to produce successful client and shareholder outcomes. The COR team is responsible for assisting business unit management with the assessment of operational risks at the business unit level and for providing guidance on the process used for the assessment, monitoring and management of risk.
This position will support the operational risk management (ORM) activities of the Liaison team supporting Advisor Services, Human Resources and Legal business partner groups. The incumbent will work independently with business partners and Operational Risk leadership to coordinate key operational risks; evaluate loss events; conduct operational risk assessment; issue management; provide education on the framework elements; evaluate Risk and Control Self Assessments (RCSA); and present risk data to business line management.
Partner with Business Unit (BU) leaders to identify, assess, and monitor existing and emerging operational risk; including continuous improvement in ORM components. Challenge the effectiveness of the BU’s risk response. Lead all aspects of and challenge the content of BU produced materials in support of the ORM Framework. Coordinate the escalation of operational risk issues in accordance with the CRM standards and policies. Oversee and challenge the design, implementation, and maintenance of businesses processes and controls to handle the risks that the organization is exposed to. Partner with Frist Line Risk Management and other 2nd Lines of Defense groups to achieve continues improvement. Provide advice and guidance to BU managers regarding risk strategy. Collaborate and coordinate across the COR Team and other Liaisons to achieve alignment of activities and continuous improvement. Support Supervisory Risk Management teams to ensure adherence to Operational Risk framework elements and policy requirements. Assess new products and high risk projects; understanding the operational risk that each would bring to the firm and ensure accurate plans are in place to mitigate.
