Job Description
Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated bioanalytical scientist who can contribute to the development and implementation of state-of-the-art quantitative and qualitative bioanalytical methods to support biopharmaceuticals, particularly antibody drug conjugates (ADC), in discovery and preclinical development pipeline at Regeneron.
Job Duties
This position will be primarily responsible for developing LC-MS based bioanalytical methods in various biological matrices, in support of chemistry, PK/PD and TK studies, which will be used to quantitate biotherapeutic levels, detect and characterize in vitro stability and in vivo biotransformation, or measure biomarkers (small molecules, peptides and proteins), or for the characterization of drug candidates and critical reagents. The scientist will practice exceptional experimental design, data interpretation and the use of best practices including utilization of cutting-edge bioanalytical technologies, implementation of automation systems (as applicable), and adoption of standardized practices through basic understanding of relevant regulatory guidance. The scientist will generate analytical data to inform decision making and collaborate across different disciplines to advance ADC and other therapeutics programs. This individual is also expected to be involved with the assessment and implementation of innovative bioanalytical technologies and methods to meet the needs of an evolving portfolio that may include novel molecular modalities across a number of traditional and new therapeutic areas. Other duties include documenting experiments, results and findings in electronic notebook, presenting work at the internal/external meetings and keeping general lab and instrument maintenance.
Additionally, this individual will serve as a bioanalytical representative on cross-functional project teams and effectively manage the prioritization to meet multiple project goals and timelines.
Requirements
• Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry or a related field and 0-5 postdoctoral experience. Industrial experience in bioanalytical aspects of LC-MS based small molecule, biomarkers and biopharmaceutical assay development is preferred.
• A strong background and extensive experience in liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry is required, with demonstrated track record of successfully developing LC-MS or LC-MS/MS methods on QQQ (Sciex or Waters preferred) and/or HR-MS (Q-TOF or Orbitrap) platforms.
• Experience in sample preparation techniques (LLE, SPE, Immunocapture, Digestion etc) and automation platform.
• Proficiency in mass spectrometry related software, such as Xcalibur, MassLynx, Analyst Biopharma finder, Proteome Discoverer, and other essential office/scientific software. Computer programming is a plus.
• Strong capabilities in experimental design, execution and data interpretation with limited supervision.
• Ability to think critically, anticipate and identify key issues and problem solving.
• Excellent interpersonal and effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in ADC and/or oligonucleotides analytics and characterization, and basic knowledge in biochemical/cell-based assay is desired.
• Previous experience in mass spectrometry application in lipidomics/metabolomics/proteomics would be advantageous.
