Description: Provides professional physician recruitment and placement services for a full range of physician specialties to SCPMG Chiefs of Departments, Physicians in Charge and Physicians in Chief. Sources, screens and pre-qualifies physician applicants. Consults with Chiefs to ensure that physician applicants meet the stringent criteria required to provide the best possible quality of personalized care to our growing health plan membership.
Essential Functions :
- Implements a nationwide physician recruitment program.
- Recruits, pre-qualifies, screens and assists in the placement of physicians and other selected professionals in a variety of practice settings.
- Develops, designs, and implements the processes for screening resumes, routing candidate information to appropriate Chiefs, scheduling and coordinating applicant interviews among facilities.
- Consults with chiefs of service to plan and document interviews and screens applicant physicians by telephone and in person to determine qualifications, practice expectations and preferences, and availability.
- Pre-qualifies applicants for interviews.
- Explains SCPMG philosophy, policies, practice, structure and expectations to applicants; presents practice opportunities to applicants; outlines general compensation and benefits to candidates.
- Coaches candidates on conducting job search, preparing resumes, cover letters, and interviewing.
- Participates in physician workforce planning; consults with physician chiefs of service to write position descriptions, department and facility descriptions to use as resource documents in the recruitment and selection process.
- Develops and implements marketing plan for assigned specialties, e.g., advertisements, direct mail campaigns, attendance at medical conventions, conferences and job fairs.
- Manages applicant tracking system efficiently including consistent, timely and accurate data entry; generates status and financial reports; participates in continuous quality improvement of processes.
Basic Qualifications:
Experience
- Minimum four (4) years in personnel, recruiting, medical staff services.
- Minimum four (4) years experience conducting professional interviews, and effectively presenting recommendations.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, personnel, human resources or related field, OR four (4) years of experience in a directly related field.
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
License, Certification, Registration
- N/A
Additional Requirements:
- Substantial knowledge and proven ability in workforce planning, marketing, recruitment techniques, principles and practices.
- Extensive knowledge regarding recruitment trends by membership and participation in professional associations.
- Significant knowledge of the health care environment and medical specialties.
- Strong negotiating and communication skills
- Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous physician recruitment experience preferred.
- Master's degree preferred.
- Membership in one or more local or national recruitment associations preferred.
