Job Description

In this role, you have the opportunity to

Responsible for triggering and controlling the execution of operational physical distribution activities of a distribution center. The goal is to deliver the goods in good quality to the customers at the right time and place within agreed budget.

You are responsible for

  • Physical Logistics including receiving, picking, packing, shipping, arranging transportation, import & export processing required for movement of goods into and out of countries
  • Inventory and warehouse management (i.e. cycle counts)
  • Supports the resolution of exception flows: claims management (inbound/outbound), reverse logistics
  • Monitors and controls the physical distribution activities of a distribution center as well as liaising with related functions in the commercial, supply chain or IT organizations to improve the performance
  • Manages deliveries (and product flow) to and from the DC within budget and at or above agreed service levels.
  • Manages the relationships with the logistics counterparts at the Commercial Organization, the Logistic Service Providers and central organizations of Supply Chain and IT in order to achieve business targets.
  • Establishes a distribution infrastructure plan that meets short- and medium-term developments.
  • Report on performance and corrective actions of all service providers (daily, weekly and monthly review cycle) of all activities as described below:
  • Supports daily inbound activities of the DC including priority setting and executes corrective processes for exceptions such as:
    • Overdue ASN check
    • Over- and under delivery resolution
    • Inbound complaint registration
  • Supports daily outbound activities of the DC including priority setting and executes corrective processes for exceptions such as:
    • Overdue deliveries
    • Overdue POD’s
    • Customer complaint registration
  • Initiate process improvements for the inbound or outbound activities based on root cause analysis of daily exceptions in the operational processes.
  • Executes daily checks of interfaces between SAP/Infodis/LSP systems
  • Ensures stock in SAP is in line with the stock in WMS
  • Coordinates the rework activities of stocks such as:
    • Quality issues on request of BG
    • Customer VAS activities on request of CO
    • Manages promotional VAS activities on request of marketing

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in physical distribution
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in IWD related areas
  • Service/retention mindset
  • SAP or similar ERP accounting application experience preferred.
  • Knowledge or experience working with Excel specifically (Vlook up and pivot tables)
  • Experience within the healthcare or medical manufacturing industry is beneficial
  • Has broad operational experience and knowledge of underlying theories and concepts of physical distribution management
  • Possesses expertise in logistics management methodologies, analysis tools and techniques.
  • Works independently to design, implement and control the 3PL processes but work requires review of a supervisor.
  • Might form networks with internal customers, 3PL’s, IT and procurement.
  • Effective in facilitating and negotiating to achieve commitment among diverse groups.
  • Assists junior colleagues.
  • Establishes operational decisions, typically within a 1 yr time frame.
  • Takes a business approach to planning and coordinating resources from internal and external parties.
  • Considers the needs of the business including compliance to company policies and external regulations (transportation, customs, etc.)
  • Exercises judgement and influence on key distribution decisions (standards and policies, handling of B-stock, vendor/transporters selection)
  • Has limited authority wrt the functional area including costs and methods.
  • Adherence to standard processes and tools as provided by the global supply chain organization.
  • Manages W&D budget of 0-3M €
