Sr. Product Development Engineer

Job Description

Position Title:Sr. Product Development Engineer

• Handling Projects on new product development (sourced or internally manufactured), sustainability, cost reduction, quality improvement.
• Assist Manager in negotiating all necessary commercial/technical/quality terms in RFQs
• Coordinate supplier visits and assessments for new suppliers as well as existing suppliers for new product launch.
• Coordinate with Design team in US and China office to create 2D/3D dwg and specification.
• Manage the creation of product prototypes and manage product testing for internal evaluation and consumer research.
• Ensure new products function properly, meet specifications, and meet timing objectives.
• Follow a structured product development process and enforce the use of Gant charts (preferably MS Project)
• Coordinate with US and China Quality team to develop quality control plan, inspection instructions, routine pre-shipment audit and corrective action complete.
• Assist logistics team in China office on order tracking and shipment status – more related to supply chain coordinator role on my opinion.
• Assist to create, refine and maintain supplier information database.
• Support Manager to collect new product information from exhibitions and suppliers.
• Effective communicate with BUs, conduct weekly conference call and provide status reports regularly.
• Other responsibilities as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Requirements:
• Degree/Higher Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related subjects.
• 5+ years of related experience in Product Development and supplier sourcing in consumer products or related field. Engineering product designs experience from design staff concepts using 3D computer-aided design.
• Strong negotiation skills
• Understanding of Plastic injection, assembly, Metal bending, stamping manufacturing process. Additional Knowledge about electronic/electric devices assembly will be an asset.
• Knowledge in the requirements of safety and security products is preferable.
• Good experience in using MS Office, Outlook, and related computer software.
• Self-motivated, good team worker and communication skills.
• Good in both oral and written English is a MUST.
• Proficient Solid Works, Pro Engineer, CAD skills

-electrical kitchen and/or household appliances (plastic + electronic/electrical parts)
-consumer electronics
-medical product (appliances and consumables)
