The Business Analyst will be responsible for translating unique business needs into programming logic, data sets, visualizations and reports that answer the questions most pertinent to the Cancer Genetics unit at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. In addition to this work, the Business Analyst will work in conjunction with the Clinical Operations & Business Analytics team to prepare summaries of relevant data in order to influence the success of key initiatives and build consensus around important decisions for the Cancer Genetics and Prevention group.
The Clinical Operations and Business Analytics team is part of the strategic initiative at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute to enable the transformation of data into insights and actionable information to the different operational, clinical, and business departments across the institute.
The Division of Cancer Genetics and Prevention is a team of medical oncologists, gastroenterologists, geneticists, genetic counselors, and nurses who provide cancer risk assessment and comprehensive recommendations for managing cancer risk.

The Business Analyst will report directly to the Administrative Director for Genetics and Prevention with a dotted line to the Clinical Operations & Business Analytics Team Lead.
The Business Analyst will be responsible for taking initiative on new projects and ad hoc reports. This individual will work with a variety of tools (ex: SQL, Excel, Oracle etc.) to access data, write queries, develop programming logic, run reports, and manipulate and analyze large datasets to support the needs of the program.
