Job Description

As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will become an expert with Khoros’ Care and Marketing products and implementing customizations and integrations for our customers using the platform API. You will be expected to define best practices and document to ensure repeatability. You will also be the point person working directly with our customers to ensure the solutions you build are meeting their expectations. You are an excellent collaborator, working with our Project Managers and Solutions Architects on the requirements and design for the software you develop.

Responsibilities

• Designing, implementing, testing, documenting, deploying, and supporting custom features and integrations to the company’s products, focusing on customizations and integrations to the Care and Marketing products
• Work with the product and engineering teams to create and document best practices regarding the integrations and customizations
• Supporting teammates to maximize their professional effectiveness and potential; ensuring that colleagues have a path to resolution on technical issues, assisting or redirecting if necessary
• Managing and accounting for your own time and activities

Requirements

• B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or relevant field
• Knowledge of computer science fundamentals: data structures and algorithms, object-oriented programming, design patterns, concurrency, files and databases, performance analysis, declarative/imperative programming models
• Development experience with web services including REST, SOAP, WSDL, UDDI, and XML, JSON/P data formats
• Working knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) stack
• Experience with JavaScript including recent work with server-side network programming frameworks (e.g.: io.js, node.js); some experience with PHP is a plus (for legacy code maintenance)
• Strong command of the English language (written, spoken, colloquial)
• Ability to interact with technical and non-technical customers in support of project deliverables
• Scoping and estimating technical work using a variety of methodologies (formal and informal)
• Ability to travel ~10% (for customer meetings, conferences, internal meetings or workshops)

Additional Skills

• Working knowledge of UNIX operating systems architecture and implementations; practical knowledge of command-line tools and scripting; systems administration skills a plus
• Professional experience with:
• Federated identity management architectures (e.g.: cookie-based, OAuth, Open ID, SAML) and implementations (e.g.: Okta, PingFederate, Auth0)
• DevOps and Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices
• Public key cryptography including TLS/SSL, SSH, JKS, and X.509 PKI
• Software revision control systems including Git and Subversion; experience with software configuration management, branching, merging, and continuous integration a plus
• Implementing software root cause analysis procedures; ability to diagnose problems in complex technology environments; ability to communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences
• Documenting requirements, functionality, architecture, and design for technical features or integrations
• Agile Scrum methodology or other software development methodologies (e.g.: Iterative, Spiral, SDLC, XP)
• Test-driven development including automated testing frameworks (e.g.: JUnit, TestNG, Selenium)
