Job Description

As a multi-unit national retailer with modern tech-savvy consumers, technology assists in many ways to run sweetgreen’s complex retail business. The Sr. Business Systems Analyst will understand the deep interconnectedness between the business units and the supporting systems helping both in their evolution to meet the rapidly changing environment and work with internal stakeholders, user groups, technical systems groups, solution providers, and support groups to ensure that the solutions support the business and operational requirements. All while coaching and guiding other Business System Analysts.

Key Performance Objectives

  • By the end of April 2020, manage the deployment of the new credit card payment solution (ParPay) across all restaurants by verifying the new solution is functioning, reconciled for issues and/or fraud (partner with Accounting), and then successfully shift into monitoring the stability of the live solution (partner with Operations). Communicate system status reports to business and technology leadership.
  • Determine the system requirements for a new point of sale (POS) solution for our 100+ restaurants by analyzing the current POS solution to establish the baseline requirements, capture the functional business requirements through interviewing SMEs from each business unit (Ops, Supply Chain, Accounting, Marketing, Payroll, Culinary, and Business), and finally translating them into system requirements, delivered by the end of September 2020.
  • By the end of 2020, define the system development life cycle for the new POS and implement across our sg retails systems ecosystem. The success of this effort will be measured through a mix of quantitative performance metrics (e.g. downtime, etc) and qualitative (stakeholder feedback).
  • Design and manage the retail systems business intake process for capturing and implementing new requirements/change, to include change management for restaurant team members, by the end of September 2020.
  • Train our business units on relevant systems by the end of 2020 through leading lunch and learn sessions, formal training, and review round table sessions to ensure understanding. Additionally, you’ll want to create and maintain user guides, troubleshooting guides, and system SOP guides.
  • Take over and manage all relevant vendors in order to track technical issues, enhancement requests, and new releases to ensure a smooth experience for all system users, by the end of June 2020.

In order to accomplish the above, you’re going to need a track record of success leading systems development life cycle in a fast-paced and high-pressure startup-like environment (e.g new initiatives in a mature business ok). It wouldn’t hurt to have your PMP and a solid understanding of Agile methodologies and expertise in multi-unit retail companies.
