The Analytics group at Chegg is a central group that enables data-driven decision making at Chegg – we use data and analyses to support every business line and the marketing and product organizations. It is a team composed of analysts, data scientists, economists, mathematicians, statisticians, and engineers. This group is part of the larger data organization at Chegg that focuses on enabling data and insights at scale. We use a world-class set of instrumentation, analysis, and data science technologies to transform our data into insights and then into knowledge. While the analytics group is centralized, we heavily partner with our stakeholders to ensure insights delivered are directly usable for decision making and ultimately add value to Chegg. The Role

• Core analytics: derive insights on conversion, retention and financial performance
• Identify key levers in the business and support goal-setting process by uncovering trends
• Conduct and present ad-hoc analyses to inform roadmap decisions and investments
• Build thoughtful and detailed models to support business cases
• Partner with engineers, marketers and product managers to solve pressing issues and build new features

The Requirements

• Diligent and consistent ability to follow-through on long, comprehensive projects
• Strong analytical skills, organization skills and attention to detail
• Ability to understand the big picture and the fine details around a business area
• Ability to communicate ideas and key points clearly with every level within the organization
• Support the company's corporate culture including adhering to established ethical standards
• Must be persistent, creative and have strong team skills

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in a quantitative field (Sciences, Engineering, Economics, etc.).
• Proficiency in writing SQL queries for data manipulation.
• Familiarity with web analytics platforms such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics or others.
• Bonus points if you have experience using R or Python
• Passionate about producing high-quality analytics deliverables and communicating results to a broad audience.
• Self-motivated; independent, organized and proactive; highly responsive, flexible, and adaptable when working across multiple business units and product teams.

What project will the intern work on?
Business analytics on Chegg’s Learning Services team, including Expert Q&A, Textbook Solutions, Tutoring, and Chegg Prep. The intern will analyze data on Chegg users’ engagement and retention and uncover insights that will help drive business and product decisions.
