IT Group Description

The Business Process Innovation team is a newly formed team whose focus is to use technology to automate business processes across AllianceBernstein in order to enable better business outcomes. Our proprietary ACE product supports all operations and technology areas of AB with workflow, data management and data processing. In addition, we are introducing new, innovative technology including advanced data and AI analytics to provide next generation automation and workflow capabilities.

We are seeking a Nashville based Business Analyst to join our Business Process Innovation team in Technology and Operations.

Describe the role:

The Business Analyst will work closely with business stakeholders throughout the organization to understand current business processes and identify technology enabled improvement opportunities. The Business Analyst will become familiar with innovative technology and use that knowledge to articulate possible improvements. They will work from inception through implementation and beyond to ensure successful delivery of new systems capabilities. This includes assisting with business case definition working with stakeholders to prioritize their needs, and working closely with developers, testers, and business partners through implementation.

To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate should have experience mapping and improving business processes, as well as hands on experience with data analytics and user interface design.

Describe the applications and business or enterprise functions the role supports:

The Business Process Innovation team works across all Strategic Business Units (SBU’s) at AllianceBernstein. The Business Analyst will support this team as a collaborator and liaison to business partners across multiple business units, as well as with other technology groups.

The key job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborating and working with stakeholders to identify business requirements, optimizing to ensure process efficiency and effectiveness of business outcomes.
  • Communicating directly with business users to gather information
  • Assessing and documenting business cases for identified initiatives
  • Translating business requirements to developers
  • Providing testing requirements to the application testing team, as well as coordinating User Acceptance Testing
  • Identifying and managing dependencies
  • Managing issues and risks for the project, ensuring mitigation and contingency plans and escalating as necessary
  • Assisting with user training and communication plans

The Business Process Innovation team will be working on automation and workflow projects across the firm, exposing the Business Analyst to multiple aspects of how the firm operates. In addition, the Business Analyst will work with innovative technology including data analytics and AI-enabled automation tools. The projects he or she will work on are innovative projects that have a real impact on AllianceBernstein’s business.

This role will allow the candidate to learn multiple aspects of AllianceBernstein’s operations and grow his or her knowledge of the financial industry. The Business Analyst will develop experience improving complex problems with innovative solutions. This person will learn Design Thinking and agile concepts in order to improve business processes and user experience. The Business Analyst will practice process mapping and reengineering skills and hone knowledge of what questions to ask to ensure sound solutions for process improvement. He or she will also practice how to define a business case, influence decision making, and measure success.

Qualifications

Qualifications, Experience, Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 4 years of business analysis experience
  • Demonstrated experience working in an innovative, agile, and user experience focused environment
  • Experience working with stakeholders/end users to analyze requirements and feasibility of solutions
  • Experience in working in complex, cross-function projects
  • Experience working in the finance industry or with financial systems/data is preferred

Skills:

  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Strong problem solving, organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to manage time effectively when faced with multiple tasks/initiatives
  • Strong Excel skills; working knowledge of data analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc) is a plus
