We are seeking a dynamic Field Marketing Events Specialist who will work closely with sales, marketing and events operations teams to help manage and support key field events and event related programs. He/she will be the primary liaison between Sales and Marketing stakeholders and teams in the planning, coordination, and measuring of AppFolio regional shows, events and experiences.

The right candidate will have a strong marketing and/or events background and relevant experience working with Sales and/or Sales Field teams. They will be proficient in procurement to pay processes, end to end events planning, from pre-event concepting/ideation and strategy to the post-event measurement analysis and reporting.

Your core mission is to help drive the success of Field Sales teams by enabling them to successfully plan and execute their field events and experiences that are unique, memorable, and most importantly drive customer retention and pipeline.

The Field Marketing Events Specialist will successfully collaborate cross-functionally with Events Operations, Sales, BDRs (Business Development Reps), Marketing Program Managers, Product Marketing, Creative, Finance, Procurement, and external vendors. He/she will be a pro multi-tasker, project manager, sharp, decisive, fun to work with, thrive in a fast paced environment, and adapt to business needs.

What You'll Do:

  • Key elements of the job including working with Marketing, Field Sales, Procurement/Finance, and other cross functional departments in the coordination of Sales lead / Marketing funded events.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing and Shared Services to help develop and manage the field event marketing plan and budget.
  • Help execute or facilitate contracts, pre to post field event activities and logistics.
  • Be the key liaison of the regional “Go-Kits” including signage, collateral, promo items, and other assets required for a successful Field event.
  • Liaise between Events Operations and Field Sales team leaders to understand goals of event, and collaborate in the process and planning of these successful events.
  • Help continue evolving the Field Team Playbook specific to Events and a Center of Excellence program that will set up the Field Sales team for success.
  • Ensure leads are properly recorded and routed to correct representative pre and post show
  • Execute field event list management as needed.Assist field teams on customer or attendee acquisition for events, as needed.
  • Facilitate post-event evaluations and reporting.
  • Expense/cost tracking to ensure delivery within budget.
  • Active participation with the wider team to share knowledge, experience and with team-wide initiatives as needed.
  • Support regional events by developing standards for and sourcing promotional campaigns, collateral, booth materials, and giveaways.
  • Other Event Marketing related projects as needed.

What We're Looking For & Must Haves:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required (Marketing, Communications or a related field preferred)
  • 3-5+ years of experience in field marketing including trade shows and events
  • 3-5+ years project and/or campaign management experience in B2B marketing
  • 3+ years experience in working with sales enablement, field marketing, or sales/marketing organization
  • Detail-oriented and deadline-driven, with very strong project management and meticulous organizational skills
  • Flexibility, and the agility to jump into (and between) projects as needed as well as possess the initiative to notice a need and offer assistance where applicable
  • Team player with strong verbal and written communication aptitude and a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves work ethic. Can easily wear multiple hats.
  • The ability to form and develop productive relationships both within the company, external vendors or partners
  • Domestic travel may be required 10-15%, with the occasional need to work weekends and some evenings per the needs of the Events schedule/calendar
  • Commitment to quality, accuracy, consistency and transparency
  • Creative thinker with an entrepreneurial spirit and strong implementation ability
  • Highly-responsive, attentive, and quick to react to new and urgent requests
  • Highly motivated, resourceful problem solver with a positive attitude, who is also calm under pressure and has a great sense of humor
  • Technically proficient, familiar with Google Suite, Salesforce, Marketo, Tableau, Slack or similar tools are a plus
