Major League Baseball (MLB) is seeking a Coordinator, Content Creation for an immediate opening based in New York, NY. The position will shadow the Head of Content on all major content initiatives and assist in day-to-day content operations. MLB has many internal teams creating content for various O&O platforms, and this role will provide the opportunity to learn about all areas of the content and product organizations and contribute to all growth initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Work with internal stakeholders to develop original content and product ideas that will appeal to a mass baseball audience
• Lead weekly research projects related to digital/social content and recent industry trends
• Develop internal presentations and data reports for key organizational stakeholders
• Team up with multiple content and product teams to create first-in-class strategies for presenting content to all baseball fans
• Manage special projects related to evergreen stories, club-specific content and long-term content initiatives
• Work with SEO and data teams to ensure that MLB content is optimally presented on top search engines

Skills:

• An entrepreneurial attitude with a strong passion to create and innovate
• 1-3 years’ experience at a news organization, creative agency, or other company in the sports/entertainment industry
• A strong knowledge of baseball products and services, as well as recent trends in the digital world
• An aptitude for editorial and video content creation strategies, and the ability to decide the needs of various channels and to coordinate and execute the best possible formats for each
• Deep knowledge of social media platforms and how students of all ages are best engaging with content across those brands
• Proficiency with data visualization tools, such as Microsoft Excel
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and follow through on a project from start to finish
