About the job

Fast-paced, dynamic, and proactive, YouTube’s Trust & Safety team is dedicated to making YouTube a safe place for users, viewers, and content creators around the world to belong, create, and express themselves. Whether understanding and solving their online content concerns, navigating within global legal frameworks, or writing and enforcing worldwide policy, the Trust & Safety team is on the frontlines of enhancing the YouTube experience, building internet safety, and protecting free speech in our ever-evolving digital world.

Working on the YouTube Kids Experiences team, you are building a safer online experience for kids and families across the globe. As a Policy Enforcement Manager, you implement and enforce our Kids Content Policies across millions of videos. You understand the content ecosystem, define the operational plan and implement it, globally, working with stakeholders in Product, Engineering, Vendor Operations, Analytics, Policy and Legal. You are a key player in ensuring that we improve our understanding of trends and risks to content safety on the YouTube Kids app and related products. This includes understanding the abusive patterns of bad actors to help prevent and remove offensive content as fast as possible, as well as helping the product to identify and incentivize high-quality, relevant content for kids of varying ages and developmental stages.

At YouTube, we believe that everyone deserves to have a voice, and that the world is a better place when we listen, share, and build community through our stories. We work together to give everyone the power to share their story, explore what they love, and connect with one another in the process. Working at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and boundless creativity, we move at the speed of culture with a shared goal to show people the world. We explore new ideas, solve real problems, and have fun — and we do it all together.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Product, Engineering and Business teams on creative solutions (e.g., machine learning, enforcement workflows) to improve content safety and quality across YouTube's kids experiences.
  • Implement content safety strategies critical to various Kids surfaces, working with cross-functional partners such as Policy, Legal, Engineering, Vendor Operations, and Analytics. Comfortable providing clear and timely updates to executives and senior stakeholders.
  • Track and monitor performance against key metrics, turning data into digestible and actionable stories for xfn teams. Challenge the status quo of existing metrics and tools to improve the safety/relevance of the product.
  • Swiftly handle content escalations, providing data- and content-driven insights and implementing solutions.
  • Analyze, identify, prioritize content trends, and deliver strategies and inform on policies that reduce content that could be harmful to children.
