Global Asset Management, Summer 2020 – Distribution and Marketing Internship

What is the opportunity?

The RBC GAM Summer 2020 Internship Program offers an unparalleled opportunity to gain experience within the Global Asset Management industry. In this role, the intern will support the RBC Global Asset Management distribution teams on a range of projects, including but not limited to distribution strategy, market intelligence, competitive analysis and other distribution related assignments.

What will you do?

• Conduct research on prospective clients and markets, with ability to make conclusions, in order to help the team with RBC’s overall distribution strategy

• Work with RBC Global Asset Management intermediary and institutional distribution teams to support efforts broadly

• Liase with marketing team to optimize access to marketing materials for internal and external use

• Provide analytical support to Distribution & Marketing teams, as directed by respective team leads

• Various other research projects related to asset management industry

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

• Junior (graduation dates of Dec 2020 or May 2021) at an accredited four-year college or university pursuing a degree in Finance, Economics, Business or related discipline.

• Demonstrated academic excellence within major (GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale)

• Exceptional listening skills, well-developed communication skills, and ability to interpret client needs

• Attributes of a team player – collaborative, self-motivated, relentless focus and attention to detail

• A willingness to learn combined with genuine intellectual curiosity

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite

• Ability to work 40 hours per week for the duration of the internship, which runs June to August (specific dates may vary) and is based in Boston, MA

• Interns are responsible for their own housing, meals and travel expenses

Nice-to-have

• Strong research, reporting and technical skills (Excel, VBA, Access, industry-related software, etc.)

• Passion for financial markets, with interest in Business Development

• Interest in pursuing continuing education (CFA, MBA, etc.)
