What you’ll be doing...

The Security Manager is a member of Verizon’s Global Corporate Security Operations team and will be based out of a vendor location supporting a Verizon project. You will be responsible and accountable for monitoring the Physical and Logical controls implemented at the dedicated Verizon Secure Work Space at the vendor facility and for evaluating the efficacy of these controls periodically.

  • Conduct reviews of the physical security controls in place at a Verizon dedicated space within a vendor facility and identify vulnerabilities in the overall security infrastructure in place.
  • Conduct regular audits of security records and procedures to ensure that processes are being enforced.
  • Conduct investigations for reported possible violations and security breaches.
  • Perform Event/Security Log Monitoring, Session Monitoring and carry out reviews of all laid down physical and logical security control processes.
  • Assess risks and suggest effective controls to protect Verizon initiatives/projects.
  • Draw up test procedures to assess the effectiveness of the security controls in place.
  • Report findings to the respective stakeholders (both Verizon and vendor) and follow up on them for timely remediation/closure.
  • Create and publish metrics and present the same to both the stakeholders and management.
  • Conduct awareness sessions for the vendor resources working on Verizon Projects.
  • Collaborate with Verizon business and support teams and work towards ensuring the required processes are in place from a risk and compliance standpoint.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Three or more years of experience in Physical Security, Insider threat or related Security discipline.
  • Knowledge concerning investigative techniques including interviewing techniques, general laws of evidence, statement formats and data collection to ensure that all investigations are conducted in a professional, ethical and legal manner.
  • Knowledge in the conduct of security and project reviews.
  • Knowledge in monitoring and reviewing the logical and physical controls in place and ensure that they are in accordance to the laid down Verizon standards.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have:

  • Certification in CPP, PSP, CISA, CISSP or CISM.
  • ISO 27001 Certification.
  • Knowledge and a good working experience in carrying out security monitoring using tools like Observe IT.
  • Knowledge of the security standards applied to Verizon dedicated spaces within a vendor location.
  • Knowledge on various access control (electronic and non-electronic) and alarm monitoring systems in the market.
  • Capacity to plan, organize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet strict deadlines. Must be able to work independently and demonstrate capacity to exercise judgment and act decisively on own authority.
  • Knowledge of security risk management, particularly in the area of handling crisis situations.
