Responsibilities

To perform Quality Control Oversite Surveillance in accordance with The Southwest Airlines Maintenance Procedures Manual. Perform In-Process and Final review of all aircraft maintenance documents and tasks to ensure 100% compliance with the SWA CAMP. This oversight review will be conducted for Southwest Airlines Aircraft that are maintained at AEMP and vendor locations.

WORK ACTIVITIES/CONTEXT:

• Must be able to meet any physical ability requirements listed on this description.

• May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders.

• Must be able to perform in-process and final technical audits of all Airworthiness Directive (AD), Major Repair and Alterations, Required Inspection Items (RII), and Long Term Time Limited Deferral (LT TLD) work documents. If errors are found ensure all corrections to the documents are completed per the SWA MPM.

• Will be required to provide technical support and guidance for AEMP and vendor personnel when requested. Also must monitor in work performance and compliance of the AEMP and vendor maintenance that all work performed is in accordance with approved manuals and references including the Southwest Airlines Maintenance Procedures Manual to ensure compliance with SWA CAMP.

• May perform the necessary system transactions and visual inspections to document and receive aircraft parts.

• Must be able to interact, guide and respond to Certificate Management Offices (CMO) or Flight Standards District Offices (FSDO) FAA inspectors during their on-site visits and inspections.

• Must be able to sample the AEMP or Vendor facilities Surveillance includes all requirements of the Southwest Airlines Maintenance Procedures Manual

• and Outsource Provider Standards Manual and the Letter of Agreement. Areas surveyed include, but are not limited to: Hangar areas, Stock rooms and Tool rooms, Personnel training, qualifications, and duty time limits, Ramp areas and Back Shops.

• Will be required to notify Southwest Airlines Aircraft Records and Airframe Field Service departments when final review of all required documents has been complete as directed in the Maintenance Procedure Manual.

• Will be required to oversee/supervise AEMP or provider RII program and Non Destructive Testing (NDT) program and ensure accomplishment meets SWA CAMP.

• Will be required to oversee/supervise proper accomplishment of all Aircraft Weigh tasks, CPCP Corrosion reporting and vendors outside third party services to ensure it meets all the requirements of the SWA CAMP.

• Will be required to supervise and accomplish RII buy back tasks as required during work accomplished in the field by Boeing AOG/GEOW for all RII/Major repairs.

• Will be required to interface with SWA engineering during prototype or STC projects. Also validate proper RII compliance related to AEMP or provider engineering documents meet the requirements of the SWA CAMP.

• Will be required to accomplish investigations, reporting and follow up of non-compliance events found at AEMP or vendor locations.

Quality Control Inspector/Supervisor or Quality Assurance Part 121 carrier or equivalent experience.

Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Technician with a Part 121 carrier or Part 145 repair station with Heavy Maintenance experience.

LICENSING/CERTIFICATION:

• Must hold a valid FAA AIRFRAME and POWERPLANT License.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES/WORK STYLE:

• Must have knowledge of Boeing 737 aircraft and systems.

• Must have a basic understanding of Aircraft Structures and Repairs.

• Must be able to effectively use Microsoft Office programs, Web Based Applications and general computer skills.

• Must be able to read and comprehend Southwest Airlines Maintenance Procedures Manual, Task-Card Documents, Aircraft Change Orders, Engineering Repair Orders, Aircraft Manufacturer Maintenance or Repair Manuals, Aircraft Manufacturer Installation or Detailed Part Drawings and Aircraft Logbook discrepancies.

• Must have a basic knowledge of FAA Regulations to include but not limited to CFR Part 43 and Part 121 requirements. This also requires understanding of a Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Program.

• Must have knowledge and understanding of SMS and its implementation as required by 14 CFR Part 5.

• Must be able to communicate effectively, oral and written.

• Must be able to manage and establish a positive attitude with assigned personnel.

• Must have the ability to motivate others as part of a team and work under stressful situations.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines.

• Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.

• Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines.

• Must be willing and able to travel in or out of the United States and spend time in other locations as required.
