Job summary

The Red Hat Marketing Communications team is looking for a Senior Customer Reference Manager to support our Global Customer Reference marketing team in Sunnyvale, CA. In this role, you will support the Global Customer Reference team to recruit new customers into the program, as well as maintain and build upon existing reference relationships. You will work directly with our North America Sales team to align customer references to help advance the sales cycle and the needs of field sales teams globally. Our customer reference program is well-established, but with room for significant growth in North America sales support as our company and customer base expand. This gives you the opportunity to make an immediate impact on a key program and promote the Red Hat brand. You'll cultivate and strengthen internal and external customer relationships in order to build a rich database of North America references to promote the credibility of Red Hat’s offerings.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Consult the North America Sales team to identify and recruit prospective references that align to sales needs, Business Unit (BU) strategies, and corporate marketing goals
  • Develop and pitch strategic reference proposals to customers working closely with the customers marketing or PR teams on approvals
  • Serve as a trusted adviser to North America sales leadership and sales representatives to fulfill requests for references to help them close deals
  • Support the customer reference team’s global peer-to-peer program by aligning customers to speak to other customers and prospects to advance the sales cycle
  • Build out additional program offerings and enhancements to expand the customer reference peer-to-peer program
  • Recruit North America customers to speak privately to industry analysts for one-on-one briefings, commissioned analyst reports, and offering evaluations

Required skills

  • 3+ experience with sales, sales operations, account management, or marketing
  • Ability to multitask, managing time sensitive and top-priority requests simultaneously
  • Professional presence and poise to navigate relationships with sales leadership and external customers
  • Outstanding interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with an outgoing personality
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience in the technology industry is a big plus
