3D Modeling Specialist

Job description

The 3D modeling specialist is part of a multidisciplinary team generating high fidelity synthetic data. This data is used for algorithm development and validation, deep learning training sets and developing state of the art sensor technologies.

Responsibilities

• Work in 3D and game-engine applications (3DSMax, Blender, Unreal Engine, Unity) to create high-fidelity virtual environments and human characters.
• Assemble and keep track of assets and data from multiple disciplines, including models, textures, rigs, simulations, etc..
• Hands-on artist responsibilities include look development, lighting, layout, post-effects and render optimization.
• Work closely with R&D departments to establish technical and artistic requirements for final content, especially in the area of quality vs. performance tradeoffs.
• Establish best technical practices and propose workflow improvements in concert with pipeline engineers.

Qualifications - Must

• 5+ years of experience as a CG artist (or technical artist) for architecture, commercials, games or feature films.
• Excellent visual sensibilities, as demonstrated by a demo reel or portfolio.
• Thorough knowledge with the technical aspects of the CG production process, from asset creation to final compositing or real-time rendering.
• Understanding of low-level elements of CG pipelines and how they function (light baking, ray tracing, rasterization).
• Excellent problem solving, troubleshooting and debugging skills, passion for details.
• Strong planning and communication skills.
