Job summary

The Red Hat Consulting team is looking for a Senior Middleware Consultant to join us in Barcelona, Spain. In this role, you will put our unique middleware application capabilities for DevOps, continuous integration (CI), and cloud-based development consulting projects to use. You’ll lead the on-site implementation of Red Hat’s technologies like Red Hat Middleware, Red Hat Agile Integration Suite, Red Hat OpenShift, and Red Hat OpenShift Application Runtimes and Red Hat OpenShift Service Mesh. You will play a key role in customer enterprise development, helping make our solutions both practical and workable for customer businesses. You’ll work to gain an understanding of customer infrastructure and business needs, make recommendations that resolve their issues, and help them make strategic decisions. As a Senior Middleware Consultant, you will build enterprise applications and capabilities around cloud technologies to streamline development and allow for continuous feature release of applications. As being open is core to our technologies and to our consulting approach, you’ll need to be passionate about learning new offerings and technologies and expanding your core base of expertise while promoting Red Hat's solutions.

Primary job responsibilities

• Ensure client success with Red Hat’s technologies through collaboration and working on a range of projects, from short to longer-term engagements
• Serve as the trusted on-site expert to our customers, addressing technical, development and IT requirements, and implementing robust solutions
• Manage problem identification, solution architecture implementation, software specification and design, implementation, testing, customer training, and deployment of open source solutions
• Deliver subject matter expertise via Red Hat’s offerings and practices, providing technical expertise to help customers achieve success with Red Hat's middleware portfolio
• Demonstrate knowledge of emerging technologies and the latest modern application development techniques
• Identify, analyze, and resolve issues with customer deployments

Required skills

• Working knowledge of design patterns applicable to modern software development
• Knowledge of and experience with JBoss EAP, JBoss AMQ, and JBoss Datagrid
• Knowledge of Spring, Spring Boot, Javascript Node.JS, Wildfly Swarm, Jakarta EE , or Vert.x
• Experience with Docker or Open Container Initiative (OCI), Kubernetes, or other container tools; OpenShift is a plus
• Experience working and designing DevSecOps architectures and implementations
• Practical advanced coding skills in multiple languages and environments
• Applied knowledge of modern software delivery methods like test-driven development (TDD), behavior-driven development (BDD), and continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD)
• Great written and verbal communication and presentation skills in Spanish and English
• Willingness to travel to customer locations more than 75% of the time
