Job Description
Role Summary:
The Inspector will test and inspect products at various stages of the production and/or rework process. We currently have openings on 1st Shift, working from 6:00AM-2:30PM.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprint, tooling prints, gauge prints, specifications, GD&T and other quality documents pertaining to the manufacturing of products produced and purchased
- Use inspection instruments including CMMs, contour tracers, comparators, micrometers, gauge blocks, calipers, meters, indicators, etc.
- Perform calibration of tooling and gauging as required
- Perform necessary mathematical calculations as required with minimum amount of training
- Conduct diversity of inspections, which may include first piece inspections, in-process sampling, or final floor inspection of parts
- Check parts and processes for conformity to drawings or specifications
- Follow standardized procedures with allowable variations defined
- Devise ordinary gauging/measuring setups
- Make adaptations to inspection equipment or fixtures
- Notify supervisor in case of excessive defects
Qualifications/Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 3 years manufacturing/inspecting experience
Eligibility Requirements:
- This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience reading and interpreting mechanical blueprints and / or production planning
- Ability and willingness to use basic hand tools and measuring devices (i.e. - dial calipers, rulers, tape measures, protractors, micrometers, gauges, etc.) as required within department
