Our Strategic Senior Account Manager interact face to face with our customers, understand their needs and consult to offer the right solutions. We work collaboratively in Field Sales Teams and play a critical role in supporting our customer centric business model.

The Strategic Senior Account Manager is a key member of the field sales team and plays a critical role in supporting our Company's customer centric business model. This position is responsible for working with their respective accounts to understand and identify customer needs, develop an account strategy, progress the sales of Animal Health Division products, and ensuring the Animal Health Division is viewed as bringing value and technical innovations aligned to our strategic focus the Science of Healthier Animals. In addition, the Account Representative demonstrates an understanding of the resources available across our Company and our Distribution Partners.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop strong relationships with account leadership at all levels providing solutions to identified needs.
  • Collaborate to develop and implement strategy for beef seed stock customers in North America
  • Primary point of contact for assigned customers, meets with key personnel/decision makers to understand practice structure, business model, key influencers, customer needs and identifies business opportunities
  • Develop customer strategy - outlining strategy for interactions/relationship, solutions, partner involvement and potential offerings for customer resulting in sales opportunities and account sales growth of the Animal Health Division products and services.
  • Develop specific account plans for all assigned customers. Partners with territory sales managers and regional sales managers along with Distribution Field Partners to maintain strong focus on accounts to drive sales growth.
  • Work collaboratively across all species teams to foster a one Company approach to enhance knowledge of the entire product portfolio.
  • Shares with other team members within the region to foster growth and development within the team.
  • Analyze sales results on a monthly basis and manage expenses within budget guidelines.
  • Identifies and selects programs/services available within the Animal Health Division's available resources to address customer needs and provide education & training opportunities to accounts.
  • Works with leadership and Field Technical Services to develop and deliver relevant offerings that address desired customer needs.
  • Develop current understanding of the Animal Health Division products, industry trends and competitor landscape, business model, key influencers/ network structure and make information available to relevant stakeholders and to influence sales trends.
  • Articulates and communicates relevant customer, industry, product, and market trends appropriately through the organization.
  • Responsible for developing and meeting learning and development objectives agreed upon with leadership.

In this role the Senior Account Manager will mainly focus on accounts in the Panhandle of Texas to include Amarillo/Canyon. Management of accounts in other states requiring overnight travel will also be included.

This role will work in a National capacity but will mostly cover Montana, North Dakota's, and TX as well as surrounding states.

Education Minimum Requirement

  • Bachelor Degree (Animal Science, Agribusiness, Marketing, or Business degrees preferred)

Required Experience and Skills

  • Strong understanding of the US Beef Cattle Seed Stock business.
  • Must have a minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience with at least 5 years sales experience.
  • Must have a solid understanding of the agriculture industry, significant cattle experience is preferred.
  • Will be expected to offer a high level of proficiency and demonstrate success regarding:
    • Technical, Product & Market Knowledge.
    • Territory & Business Management.
    • Selling Skills
    • Leadership and team building
  • Position requires strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Must have demonstrated ability in public speaking to small and large audiences.

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • Marketing, People Management and/or Strategic Account Management.
