Financial Analyst, Research and Global Development

Job Description

Summary: The Financial Analyst will split their time supporting both the Research and Global Development organizations in financial and business planning analysis and reporting. This position will be responsible for Alliance and Brand budget performance tracking & reporting for GD Finance as well as cost center tracking & reporting for R&D Finance along with ad-hoc projects.
Responsibilities:
Manage quarter/month end close activities including activity/brand budget performance reports
Prepare quarter end accruals
Develop annual budgets and quarterly forecasts for specific cost centers
Monitor and analyze trends in expenses and FTEs across multiple programs and cost centers
Provide relevant and accurate reporting and analysis of quarterly or monthly actuals spend
Prepare financial analysis in support of ad hoc requests and projects
Serve as a liaison between Finance and the business
Requirements:
Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment

Must possess the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
Strong communication and organization skills necessary.
Ability to work independently
Ability to problem-solve and be able to suggest/implement best practices for current processes
Team player with a strong work ethic
Ability to develop and maintain relationships with varied levels of personnel.
Experience with Hyperion is a plus
Advanced Excel skills needed to manipulate raw data and provide meaningful analysis (Vlookup, Pivot tables, IF statements, macros)
Knowledge of automated systems for estimating, budgeting, forecasting, monitoring, planning, and allocating resources is a plus
Strong understanding of the Biotech/Pharma industry is a plus
Bachelor's degree required ideally in a quantitative or scientific discipline
