Reporting to the Contracting Manager in Business Planning, the Healthcare Contract Senior Analyst will provide analytic support to the Financial Planning and Managed Care Contracting teams. The Healthcare Contract Senior Analyst will work closely with Managed Care Contracting to produce financial modeling in support of contract negotiations and ongoing management. The position requires the ability to translate complex contractual reimbursement terms into an easily understandable and articulate format. The Healthcare Contract Analyst will be involved in Institute-wide profitability analysis and special projects in support of the Chief Financial Officer, VP of Finance and Senior Director of Financial Planning.

Responsibilities

  • Perform data generation, analysis and modeling to support contractual commitments by required deadline
  • Perform analysis and modeling required to support various strategic initiatives related to reimbursement models, provider reporting and collaboration, payor contract negotiation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Develops payor matrices including key comparative metrics, contract terms, and renewal dates for use by management team.
  • Assists in the development of monthly and quarterly reporting by line of business, disease center, service type, and location that are distributed and presented to executives and key stakeholders.
  • Coordinates and prepares special report requests for information, ensuring consistency and accuracy with other published reports and financial systems.
  • Completes special project requests from operations and other financial departments related to data requests requiring decision support system information.
  • Works with IT and other pertinent departments to research and resolve data discrepancies.
  • Demonstrates technical and analytical expertise, timely follow-through on commitments, and excellent customer service

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or related field is required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of related work experience, preferably in the health care industry.
  • Requires superior computer skills in MS Office applications, decision support system and automated general ledger system. Strata and EPIC experience strongly preferred. Experience with data mining, relational databases, and SQL query tools is a plus.
  • Must be comfortable manipulating, interpreting, and summarizing large data sets.
  • Must have superior judgment, discretion, interpersonal skills and communication skills to effectively work and communicate on sensitive political and confidential issues.
  • Must be able to function independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Must pay particular attention to understanding the detail by performing reconciliations, implementing controls, and reviewing work completed.
  • Must be committed to a customer service philosophy.
  • Must be committed to working closely with others in a team-oriented approach.
