About the Team The product team in Toronto is responsible for building solutions to enable our customers to deliver exclusive interactive experiences to their customers. We are currently working on building out an engagement platform to nurture customer relationships with the goal of understanding what customers want and when they want it. About the Role As a mobile application developer you’ll help lead the direction of net new mobile applications that will be built from the ground up and will be used by some of the biggest brands in the world. You’ll setup pipelines and provisioning workflows to automate deployment of this application and to create an efficient developer environment. You’ll work with UX, Product Management, security professionals and other engineers on a daily basis in order to build amazing software experiences. Who You’ll Work With ● Devlan Nicholson , Software Engineer, joined in August 2007. Devlan has most recently worked on the content data model to support a more hierarchical structure for user’s comments. ● Gabriela Ruhr , Product Manager, joined in February 2017. Gabi recently moved from the Customer Success team to bring her deep customer knowledge to help us deliver great customer experiences. ● Chad Russell , Engineering Manager, joined in August 2014. Chad helps make sure projects move along smoothly and most recently worked on swapping out our home grown image hosting infrastructure with a third party service. What You’ll Accomplish

Day 1

• You’ll meet with your assigned “buddy” to get a tour of the space and meet the team, get settled into your space, and go grab a coffee.
• Get a rundown of Vision Critical’s policies and benefits from our HR team and review some paperwork.
• Get started setting up your development environment and make sure you have all the software tools you need.

By Week 1

• We have a skeleton of our mobile apps built for demo purposes using React Native, we’ll whiteboard and discuss the current approach we took and start to think about how to proceed.
• We’ll review the architecture of the system, services and APIs that the mobile app will interact with. We’ll look at how other services are deployed and the various tools we use to monitor and debug those systems in pre-prod and prod environments. How we build other products will help guide how we build this new one.
• You’ll learn about the product and platform that we provide our customers and start to get an understanding of who our customer is and what problem we solve for them.

By Month 1

• We’ll have a good idea of how to structure the code for the application and how to get it into the hands of our customers, you’ll be building out the application and helping to design the interface and UX.
• We demo our work regularly, you’ll be able to show the team what you’ve accomplished so far.
• We’ll set up regular touchpoints with your team lead so we can get on the same page regarding your career aspirations and goals and we’ll determine milestones that you can hit.

About You

• Minimum 3 years experience with success launching a few apps to the various app stores.
• Ideally a mix of experience in mobile technologies, such as native iOS or Android or cross platform frameworks such as React Native or Flutter.
• You have some thoughts on how to setup a development workflow and a pipeline to make delivering new versions of the application as seamless as possible.
• You can build out amazing UI and UX in an Android environment while working with UX professionals.
• You excel in a fast-paced agile environment.
• You have strong opinions about how a mobile applications should be built and are not shy about sharing those opinions.
