Position Summary:

The Denali Bus Depot Assistant Manager is an essential front line supervisor who ensures that the initial contact with each Denali National Park visitor, as they purchase tickets or reserve a campsite, is a positive experience. The Bus Depot Assistant Manager is responsible for ensuring that all team members are fully trained in SMS as well as being able to provide in-park information to park visitors. This position acts as Bus Depot Manager on Duty whenever this person is on shift while also scheduling and ensuring efficient coverage of each position within the Bus Depot operation.

Essential Function:

  • Become proficient with SMS (Springer Miller System) Reservation System.
  • Conduct sales and reservations transactions to customers accessing the Shuttle system as well as for campgrounds and tour operations.
  • In the absence of the Bus Depot Manager, acts as MOD (Manager on Duty) in the specific day-to-day operating duties of visitor center sales and reservations desk. Supervises Denali Bus Depot reservation supervisors and agents.
  • Assist customers with any other inquiries
  • Maintain a bank and be accountable for all of your transactions on a daily basis.
  • Assist with special projects as assigned by the Denali Bus Depot Manager.
  • Employee is responsible for general knowledge of corporate environmental policies and procedures and how they relate to their job functions. Corporate policies and procedures are posted on bulletin boards or can be accessed at dpr.web.
  • Employee is responsible for knowing the environmental aspects and associated impacts of their job position. Job specific Environmental Aspects and Impacts will be communicated by Dept. Managers during EMS training.
  • Environmental objectives and targets will be communicated by dept. managers for each dept. during EMS training.
  • Employee will have no less than 1 performance review per season to include an evaluation of performance standards as they relate to work instructions addressing their department’s environmental aspects. Employee will be aware of environmental objectives and targets within their department and how the objectives and targets affect their job performance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Status and Scope: Reports to the Denali Bus Depot Manager

Qualifications

  • Two year degree in business related field or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Must be fluent in English.
  • Previous hospitality experience in large, high-end resort preferred.
  • Previous Front Desk/Customer Service management experience required.
  • Computer literacy required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft business applications.
  • Previous experience with Springer-Miller Property Management System or like system desired.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate motor vehicles is preferred
