Description

Primary Function of Position:
This intermediate level position is responsible for receipt, movement, storage, tracking, identification and shipment of materials required for production and order fulfillment, while maintaining full accuracy and timeliness of business software data transactions. Job duties include: MRP materials transactions and trouble-shooting, perform and document inventory cycle counts, interface (pick-up scheduling) with delivery carriers; and support daily manufacturing operations (put-away and replenishment) throughout the warehouse. Able to mentor and train junior peer members of materials team. Monitors processes and procedures for compliance.
Roles and Responsibilities:
This position has responsibility and authority for: • Handles, moves, and transacts materials during receiving, put-away, floor replenishment, and shipment in a prompt, efficient, accurate manner• Trouble shoots exceptions during receiving, put-away, material transfer, and shipping• Monitors and fills shortages for materials • Able to lead receiving activity and manage and resolve supplier problem shelf items (interface with purchasing) • Able to process sales orders for domestic (U.S.) and international customers• Lead for systems packaging duties and ensures DHR transaction validity• Reviews and optimizes routes on manufacturing floor to replenish empty kanbans.• Identify, communicate, and resolve issues that disrupt material movement• Utilize business operations software to record and trouble-shoot data transactions • Comply with materials management policy; support requests for audit compliance• Perform data entry transactions for material transfer forms and trouble-shoot exceptions• Scans bins empty or full when required using the ERP system • Send kanban signals for materials on replenishment programs to suppliers• Plan and conduct cycle counts of warehouse inventory; submit documents for approval• Able to maintain tactical interfaces with shipping carriers (Fedex, UPS, Piedmont)• Support production, purchasing, quality assurance, and order management material movement requirements• Function as lead for warehouse safety and housekeeping per 5S principles• Operates material handling (fork lift and pallet jack) equipment safely per policy and procedures; conducts safety inspections of equipment• Communicate to stakeholders regarding status of material movements and transactions• Fulfill employee training record requirements/updates per supervisor directionQualifications

In order to adequately perform the responsibilities of this position the individual must: • Possess either high school or AA degree preferred• Possess prior warehouse (3+ years) or material handling experience in manufacturing environment • Inventory management experience (cycle counts, physical inventory)• Prior ability to trouble-shoot process issues and lead projects• Prior medical industry experience • Operations management education (APICS, ASQ, ISM...)• Prior experience and/or certification in operating material handling equipment• Ability to lift 35 pounds frequently each day• Extensive walking and repetitive physical motion (squatting, bending, lifting) is required (at least 70% of hours worked)• Steel toe shoes, safety gloves, and clean room coats are required attire• Clean driving record (no violations) is preferred• Able to demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness in completing work assignments• Can work independently with minimal supervision in a cross-functional setting• Prior computer experience (including MS Office products and ERP systems) preferably SAP and Agile.• Knowledge of KanBan systems and other lean material handling principles• Excellent verbal and written communication skillsWe are an AA/EEO/Veterans/Disabled employer.
