Responsibilities
Contributes within Ground Ops Project Execution in working with Senior Leadership across all
operational departments to execute the Company's strategic plan. Maintain, advance, and support Ground Operations in its responsibility to deliver a safe, reliable, low cost product to our Customers via the delivery of high quality project delivery and innovative business process design.
WORK ACTIVITIES/CONTEXT:
- May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders.
- Responsible for initiating, developing, and leading cross-departmental coordination to align planning
- decisions, foster innovation, streamline routine activities, and drive joint solutions.
- Serves as a trusted resource to assist Leadership, Employees, and other departments in understanding Ground Ops Project Execution's purpose, current initiative workload, and methodology for project/initiative delivery.
- Designs and articulates the future state through an understanding of internal and external challenges, identifying unique opportunities to create value and engage Employee and stakeholder involvement.
- Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources and reconcile conflicts to establish a comprehensive understanding and to distinguish user/Customer requests from the underlying true needs.
- Proactively analyze operational performance, business process, Customer insights, and future needs to clarify key challenges, diagnose root cause, recognize performance improvement opportunities, and ensure enterprise strategy and initiative alignment.
- Forecast future needs (e.g., flight schedule changes, revenue initiatives) and assess and prepare the operation to meet them by evaluating process and technology alternatives and developing recommendations to support decisions and shape next phases of work.
- Owns or provides guidance to strategic techniques, models, and tools.
- Responsible for ensuring and delivering appropriate, proactive, and effective, communication is taking place with between Ground Ops Project Execution and all levels of the organization including internal and external Customers, all levels of Leadership, and applicable vendor/contract services.
- Habitually serve as a change advocate by demonstrating behaviors that support new direction and new tool/process integration.
- Must demonstrate a positive attitude and encourage Employees to think beyond current work processes to innovate.
- Pursue functional and professional development opportunities within the Company and the industry.
- Responsible for strategic planning and oversight of portfolio services, program management, and project management related to Ground Operations use and support of Southwest Airlines Reservation System.
- Responsible to be involved in and ensure adherence to program and project governance, development and inclusion of performance management, development and validation of business cases and project charters, maintenance of appropriate documentation, and securing and allocating resources and funding.
- Anticipates and manages program risks, dependencies, and scope ensuring appropriate level of priority, visibility, escalation, and mitigation.
- Assess and oversee project and program level change management strategies to reduce the risk of change fatigue, ensure long term stakeholder adoption, and maximize ROI. Generally coordinated across multiple inter-connected projects and departments.

Qualifications
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor's Degree or 4 years relevant work experience in project management, systems/process analysis, or operations
WORK EXPERIENCE:
- 7+ years analytical/operational experience required
- 4+ years project management methodology required
- 4+ years process implementation is required
- 4+ years Amadeaus/Altea experience preferred
- Experience designing/evaluating initiatives through each phase of the project development life cycle preferred

- Can utilize Excel to perform basic data analysis, including the use of formulas, pivot tables, and lookups. Also proficient in PowerPoint, capable of constructing detailed, articulate, and standardized presentations.
- Possesses knowledge of performance evaluation and a thorough understanding and application of project/program management techniques and change management principles.
- Ability to culminate corporate vision and strategy via effective initiative and work stream design, including resource allocation and initiation of cross departmental collaboration.
- Lead cross-functional Teams to deliver projects and services on time, within budget, and within agreed upon scope.
- Effectively follows Leadership direction.
Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be able to travel (moderate travel as requested by Leadership)
