Job Summary - Consults and manages Service Center operations and activities, in order to achieve optimal servicing of Commercial lines business and the achievement of corporate financial goals.
- Functions as an advocate for Commercial Service Centers.
- Monitors performance among the Service Centers, develops creative and alternative strategies to improve and enhance customer service and oversees implementation in all operations.
- Seeks out and shares best practices in the industry and between and among the Service Centers; communicates findings and facilitates implementation in all Service Center operations.
- Directs service center standardization and ensures consistency in organization and process in all Service Centers.
Essential Job Functions Plans, develops, evaluates, and recommends standards and procedures in all areas of commercial service center operations to enhance operational efficiency. Monitors Service Centers commercial operations; summarizes results and makes recommendations on necessary changes to enhance customer service performance and operational efficiency. Coordinates the development and oversees the execution of strategies, programs, and initiatives designed to accomplish corporate goals. Receives and manages all Commercial Service Center staffing requests, follows through on approved changes, records approved changes and ensures centers adhere to center model. Prioritizes Service Centers technology development requests and coordinates prioritization and implementation with PMO. Supports the Service Centers in developing cost effective budgets and in tracking and implementing expense control methods. Acts as liaison with Home Office Commercial Operations, Training, Product and Underwriting to ensure centers have up-to-date procedure manuals, training material, product information and current product and underwriting philosophies. Receives all Service Center quarterly operations reports; reviews content for successful practices and/ or problems requiring immediate attention; provides analysis and recommended actions to Vice President of Commercial Operations. Performs other duties as assigned, including special projects.
Physical Actions Required job duties are essentially sedentary work consisting of occasional walking, standing and lifting and/or carrying 10 lbs. maximum.
Physical Environment Required job duties are normally performed in a climate controlled office environment.
Education Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. IIA certificate or actively pursuing CPCU program and yellow belt certification.
Experience Requirements Five years of commercial lines insurance experience, including 3 years as a Commercial Service Team Manager or Commercial Support Team Manager.
Special Skill Requirement - Black Belt/ Green Belt/ Lean Six Sigma experience preferred
- Experience with analyzing large datasets and data modeling preferred
- Experience in project management and/or business analysis preferred
- Experience in coaching, mentoring and leading high performance teams in a matrix environment preferred
- Proven track record of results from the application of process improvement methodologies and effective change management preferred
