Overview
Tiffany and Company is currently seeking a Payroll Staff Accountant out of our Parsippany, NJ offices. The Payroll Staff Accountant is responsible for recording, analyzing and reconciling all US and Canada payroll related activities and working closely with third party vendors to ensure timely and accurate payroll tax deposits/filings. The Staff Accountant will assist in processing various special pay-cycles (i.e. commissions, annual relocation, etc.), and administer day-to-day management of deferred and equity compensation related tasks. In addition, the Staff Accountant will complete various reports and analyses in support of internal/external business partners.
Responsibilities
- Record, analyze and reconcile the Company’s US and Canada payroll related transactions.
- Work with third party vendors to ensure weekly payroll tax deposits and related files are transmitted timely and accurately.
- Complete multi-worksite reports, work with AP to pay invoices, participate in quarterly/annual tax filings and Sarbanes-Oxley key control reviews.
- Support internal/external business partners with various reporting and analyses.
- Identify opportunities to enhance department processes, reporting and analysis.
- Process special pay-cycles (i.e., monthly commission and quarterly commission bonus, annual relocation, bi-monthly RSU pay-cycles, etc.) and perform related analytical review to ensure proper financial recording.
- Responsible for processing deferred and equity compensation related tasks. Including day-to-day system maintenance, file transmission, payments, and tax calculations. Partner with Accounting & Reporting in periodic balance review and reconciliations.
- Participate in special projects as requested.
Qualifications
- Four year degree in an Accounting or Finance discipline
- Analytical and organizational skills
- Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong oral and written communication Skills
- Flexible work schedule is a must
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ year US/Canada payroll related experience
- Previous JD Edwards experience
- CPA or pursuing certification
