Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Operations Specialist to join our Global Shared Services team at Atlassian. The aim of the role is to provide HR support to mainly our Amsterdam, European and EMEA based employees and managers and, in partnership with HR People Partners, deliver great experiences. The main responsibility of the role will be to handle general HR inquiries for the entire hire to retire employee life-cycle, such as recruitment support, onboarding & offboarding, benefits & compensation support, performance reviews, learning and development services and more. The successful candidate will also contribute and drive projects/initiatives. You will challenge the status quo, proactively look for opportunities to improve our employee experience offerings on the ground in collaboration with the Global Shared Services. As a successful candidate, you are high energy, driven and experienced HR Ops Support, with the perfect blend of human resource skills, deep Netherlands knowledge and general European and EMEA knowledge, and a strong desire start fast in a complex environment. You will form a critical part of the global team that entails launching a brand-new HR shared services model which redefines how the people team provides services for the business now and in the future. *This role requires strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Dutch. In this role, you'll get to
- Act as an initial point of contact for Amsterdam and European employees for all HR operations-related questions.
- Take on responsibility to ensure that employees and managers get the most effective resolution directly from you or with the help from Centers of Excellence (COE) OR the onsite HR People Partners.
- Apply judgment and make decisions to call out to the relevant internal team
- Manage a broad variety of requests related to HR policies, procedures, tools (such as Workday) and different HR programs.
- Handle higher employee inquiry volumes and broader responsibilities by respecting deadlines, set SLAs and critical metrics set for the role.
- Act as a data integrity champion to ensure employee records are as up to date as possible. This may include running data audits, contributing to Netherlands and Europe
- Generate insights about the process, procedure or internal working instructions where you see opportunities to streamline and gain greater customer satisfaction. You will extract those insights based on your day to day work with employees.
- Collaborate with a broader HR People Ops team to share knowledge and build a world-class learning organization in a Shared Services space
- Contribute to and drive local as well as European wide projects and initiatives which require good coordination, project managing and communication skills.
More about you
- HR skills (+2 years) including technical and administrative knowledge of all HR functions. Gained HR experience by working in an organisation with an established HR shared services model
- Hands-on experience in a field of employment law for at the least Netherlands and other European countries preferably UK, Ireland, Germany or France managing full employment cycle from on-boarding to off-boarding.
- This role requires someone comfortable working in a high volume; fast-paced, results-oriented environment and hold themselves to a very high customer service standard.
- Demonstrated operational abilities, and Process-oriented and able to maintain the accuracy of data in a fast-paced environment.
- Delivery-focused mindset, with the drive to solve complex problems through analytics and structured root-cause problem-solving.
- Ability to prioritize simultaneously and take initiative even in ambiguous circumstances.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with the comprehension to provide updates at all levels as well as the potential to tailor communications to suit a variety of audience
- Ability to deal with ambiguity in a constantly changing/ fast-paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the competency to work within a global team environment
- Demonstrates successful track record in building sustainable relationships with all partners
- Solid attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
Bonus points for
- BA/BS degree in business degree, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with Workday or other HR Management systems
- Sound IT literacy skills
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills which add to your ability formulate tentative strategic decisions.
- Knowledge of Atlassian products/tools e.g. Jira Service Desk, Confluence, Trello
