Job Summary

Our corporate activities are growing rapidly, and we are currently seeking a full-time, office-based Software Architect to join our Information Technology team. The Software Architect will work on a team focused on internal Medpace systems and setting direction for next gen systems. Strong attention to detail, willingness to explore and ability to coach in implementing new technologies are highly valued. Responsibilities

  • Implement and recommend viable architectural approaches that support long term maintainability, extensibility, and interoperability of enterprise applications;
  • Identify and evaluate potential risks in systems in relation to data integrity, security and disaster recovery;
  • Provide guidance to software development teams regarding software development patterns and proactively monitor the adherence to acceptable patterns;
  • Lead the creation of enterprise packages that adhere to defined standards and provide reviews as new features are added;
  • Develop and present application prototypes;
  • Liaise with software development teams to incorporate DevOps practices;
  • Conduct reviews on code for security and architecture adherence to establish practices;
  • Provide solutions/improvements to applications, as necessary; and
  • Complete other projects and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and 6 years of software development and/or IT Infrastructure experience, including experience with software architecture practices, design patterns development, and implementation;
  • Demonstrated expertise with software development practices and rolling out new software technologies and solutions;
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze business issues/opportunities and develop and implement IT initiatives that support organizational goals;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and/or consult on large-scale IT projects;
  • Ability to communicate professionally and persuasively with all levels in the organization, including management;
  • Development experience using Microsoft development stack, SQL Server, Web technologies such as Angular and source control; and
  • Prior experience with cloud base technologies is a plus.
