Project Manager - Logistics Estimating

Job Description The Sterling Heights, Michigan site of BAE Systems in support of Combat Vehicles is seeking a Project Manager - Logistics Estimating. In this role, the Project Manager engages in all activities related to estimating of projects associated with DoD Product Support (Logistics) efforts. Acts as an advisor to ensure compliance with business requirements for Basis of Estimate development.

• Serves as a business expert on estimating methods and systems including areas with technical data.
• Supports functional estimators in the development of current, accurate, complete, compliant, well supported and convincing basis of estimates (BOEs) on active proposal activity.
• Analyzes labor hours, material, other direct costs, and technical attributes of manufacturing, engineering, logistics, and/or project management (PM, finance, contracts).
• Influences functional change and creation of technical measures to demonstrate continual process improvement within the functions (i.e. functional metrics).
• Positively contributes to a culture of continuous process improvement for the estimating and pricing team and proposal process.

Typical Education & Experience Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 6 years work experience or equivalent experienceRequired Skills and Education Required knowledge and experience in the development and processes of the following:

• Technical manuals (MIL-STD-40051).
• Level of Repair Analysis, Maintenance Task Analysis, FMECA, Diagnostics requirements, and testability analysis.
• LMI data and tasks in development of the data (GEIA-STD-0007).
• Packaging Handling Storage and Transportation analysis.

Additional requirements:

• Highly effective communication skills, verbal and written.
• Computer literacy, including MS Office Suite.
• Ability to liaison and disseminate information.

Preferred Skills and Education

• Knowledge and understanding of the MIL STD 881 CWBS elements for logistics.
• Experience with developing Basis of Estimates for proposals in accordance with MIL STD 881.
