Video Producer, Hong Kong

Reuters Video News is looking for a dynamic and talented producer for its Hong Kong packaged video hub. You will join a global team of multi-skilled journalists producing and editing news and feature packages, based on the newsgathering of Reuters’ worldwide visuals and text staff.

You will be responsible for several videos each day to be used either on Reuters’ own online or social outlets and/or distributed to our growing list of digital clients, which includes some of the biggest news providers and platforms in the world.

This is not a traditional TV newsroom role. The ideal candidate will be brimming with ideas about how to turn video, audio, stills and graphics into engaging and innovative digital formats.

The role demands mature news judgment, solid writing and visual storytelling skills. Priority will be given to candidates who can demonstrate a feel for craft editing techniques. This position involves shift working, including weekends and public holidays.

As a Producer, you will:

• Work in a team of multimedia producers to write and edit news and feature videos
• Help to identify the editorial agenda, plan and respond to breaking news
• Quickly and accurately execute stories to tight deadlines
• Maintain Reuters’ editorial standards

You should apply if you have:

• Solid news judgment
• Significant experience of video and multimedia production
• Strong visual story-telling and video editing skills using Avid, FCP or Adobe Premiere
• Some knowledge of fixed newsroom camera operation
• Familiarity with news graphics and social video creation
• Ability to write and voice video scripts in English to a high standard
• Ability to work to deadlines while ensuring accuracy and adherence to Reuters ethical and editorial standards
