Director, iTero Revenue Accounting (Long Term Contract)

Located in Raleigh, North Carolina, and reporting directly to the Senior Director, Revenue Accounting, this is a strategic, long term, contractor role as Director, iTero Revenue Accounting. The role helps ensure the accurate accounting and reporting in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) for the iTero intraoral scanner and services business segment.

In this role, you will...

• Responsible for the worldwide revenue accounting for the iTero Scanner and Services business segment to ensure accurate and timely reporting of revenue according to US GAAP and company policies
• Manage the monthly revenue close process which includes reviewing journal entries, revenue accruals, account reconciliations, fluctuation analyses, deferred revenue postings and schedules, random sample testing, scanner return analyses, and reserve adjustments
• Directly manage a team of four Revenue Analysts who are located in Raleigh, San Jose, and Singapore
• Responsible for iTero management revenue reporting and support of external reporting including SEC disclosures
• Prepare revenue accounting memos for internal and external stakeholders
• Review new iTero sales contracts and promotions and provide the corresponding revenue accounting assessments
• Key representative in the global promotions process
• Work collaboratively with Revenue Accounting peers (Clear Aligner, Technical Accounting, and Revenue Reporting) to assure alignment of revenue deadlines and initiatives
• Support internal controls by preparing and reviewing review procedures and control assessments
• Work with external and internal auditors to provide the required support for the internal and external quarterly reviews, SEC reporting, and annual audit
• Foster proactive working relationships with cross-functional organizations including the greater GL/Controllership function, AR, Marketing, Sales, Corporate Finance, FP&A, IT, and Cost Accounting
• Identify and implement business process improvements for the iTero revenue accounting cycle
• Participate and support company roadmap projects and new product launches

In this role, you’ll need ...

Qualifications:

• Technically strong in US GAAP/IFRS Revenue Accounting ASC 605/606 including multiple element arrangements, hardware and software product accounting, and discounts
• Strong to Excellent Excel Skills (Pivot Tables, Lookups, SAP Excel Analysis)
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Familiarity with large-scale SAP ERP and SAP BI environments (COPA, HANA, etc.)
• Business acumen and ability and desire to learn Align’s customers, markets and overall business strategy
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced environment and meet deadlines
• Experience managing and building teams

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business/Accounting/Finance
• CPA, MS or MBA preferred
• Combination of 15+ years’ experience in in Big 4 public accounting (or regional firm with SEC clients) and/or publicly traded company.
• Experience and knowledge of revenue accounting related to multiple element arrangements under ASC606
• Lease accounting experience a plus
• Strong ERP, including revenue management systems, and reporting experience required
• Experience leading a team in a high growth environment
