Overview
Ogilvy seeking a New Business Director for the U.S. market. The Director will lead prospecting initiatives for net-new clients and oversee New Business pitches related to digital transformation, Digital Platform Services (DPS), and Experience Design (XD) across the region.
Ogilvy has aggressive growth plans for the U.S. market, and the New Business Director will be a key figure in strategy development and execution against those goals. Within our broad client portfolio and range of offerings, this professional will be excited to represent digital services and capabilities and communicate and capitalize on the value digital experiences and technology bring to all client engagements.
The successful applicant will have a proven record of generating strong leads, activating a wide network of internal and external partners to craft compelling strategic recommendations, and closing profitable New Business deals that align to business goals.
Responsibilities
Prospecting:
- Devise and execute prospecting strategies to grow New Business pipeline and target new clients
- Provide first point of contact and initial brand experience for prospects and identifying client needs
- Proactively identify business problems and initiate conversations both internally and externally around how to engage in helping clients solve those problems
- Build relationships with and educate key prospects on the Ogilvy suite of integrated solutions
- Attend meetings, conferences and networking events to be the voice of experience design and digital transformation; function as a reliable partner to internal and external teams that can be thrown into any meeting and speak to Ogilvy’s capabilities
- Screen/qualify New Business opportunities to ensure they are a good fit for the company’s teams and service offerings and will yield profitable engagements that are aligned to larger business imperatives
Active Pitching:
- Probe with client teams to understand the landscape, ecosystem and root of the clients’ problems
- Work within an integrated team model across a range of pitches, representing where Ogilvy and our digital capabilities can provide unique value
- Partner with Ogilvy leadership teams and capability leads to spearhead the strategy and development of highly customized proposal decks/narratives, SOW development, and the end-to-end sales process
- Cast, lead and manage pitch teams through the development of pitch deliverables and materials through closing
- Hold a deep understanding of client’s needs, internal capabilities, key internal stakeholders and competitive agency landscape
- Work in partnership with cross-functional teams across Ogilvy to establish and execute against a measurable, scalable and efficient New Business process
- Maintain the integrity of the Ogilvy brand experience in all correspondence
Qualifications
- 8-10 years of experience, which has been dedicated to business development in technology or management consulting related to digital transformation
- A modern thinker who understands integrated, cross functional pitches and the role digital and technology services can play across the pitch
- Depth of expertise in the digital landscape, channels and platforms
- Demonstrate excellent written, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Strong leadership and collaborative qualities – ability to work with senior leaders as well as work within an integrated new business team
- Has an intimate understanding and experience in areas such as experience design, digital platform services, MarTech, etc.
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse team, with a commitment to teamwork, and thrive in a sensitive, fast-paced, constantly evolving and entrepreneurial environment
- Key characteristics that are essential to the team culture: roll-up your sleeves, can-do attitude, a confident, dynamic and passionate individual, with a passion for digital and emerging technology, and desire to keep up with the latest industry news and trends
- Must demonstrate a track record of winning large, complex digital assignments for agencies
- BA/S or equivalent in relevant field required
- Up to 50% travel
This role can be based in Chicago or Denver
